…And right now, we are looking for an Artworker to join us. In this role, you will manage the creative output of our internal creative briefs. Ensuring high quality artwork and support for brand consistency. You will work closely with our in-house creative and copywriting teams as well as work within a matrix fashion supporting various stakeholders.  

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a classic British brand going through huge transformation, which includes working on a new brand ID. By the end of this contract, you will be able to add a complete rebrand to your portfolio, having played a big part in the project! 

You will have artwork or design experience gained from a digital environment with multi-channel experience, across both print and digital (having produced artwork that has gone to print) and worked with a diverse range of collateral and assets. You will bring an ability to work through large volumes and have a fine eye for detail.

Role Responsibility

  • Developing and deliver innovative creative across all marketing activities, programmes, and initiatives in support of Marketing and/or Trading gain  
  • Execute marketing briefs from conception to production, visualising and creating graphics including Illustrations, logos, layouts, and photography  
  • Demonstrate understanding of consumer insight/s that can help drive creative ideation and solutions – and how this might change throughout a calendar year or when seasonality is a factor  
  • Contribute and support the shaping of visual aspects of our website/s   
  • Implement art working solutions across a variety of communication channels including direct mail, email, digital banners and adverts, videos, social media, event collateral, magazines, and print press advertising  
  • Create and produce designs/creative collateral that displays Saga’s products ensuring these designs are in line with internal briefs and delivered on time and to production specifications  
  • Study creative briefs to decide requirements, consult with wider creative and copywriting community plus various stakeholders to manage artwork and the associated process of ensuring all designs are approved and compliant  
  • Use various Adobe programmes (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Aftereffects etc) to produce designs of a high standard  
  • Ensure any feedback given on design work is taken on board and designs are amended accurately and within the timeframe given/agreed  
  • Prepare rough drafts of work (where required) to communicate ideas, present thoughts, or ideas back to the team/teams responsible for ensuring brand, layout, typography, and photographic composition is considering when producing any creative work   
  • Work with and consult with the wider creative, copywriting and front-end development teams to share ideas, stimulate imaginations and produce fantastic final creative work  
  • Ensure graphics created are assessed across various media and can be delivered on-specification  
  • Continuously keep abreast of creative and market trends to develop creative rationale, concepts and visuals that adhere to our brand  
  • A passion for creating stunning visuals which meet the creative brief and help to deliver amazing response and brand engagement  
  • A good understanding of print and packaging, artwork preparation for print and digital 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Art working experience in marketing, advertising, digital or media agency and/or client organisation  
  • Experience with integrated advertising campaigns across multiple media channels, digital and marketing touchpoints, and the ability to show creative impact on the brand and business performance  
  • Experience presenting to and challenging Marketing stakeholders  
  • Excellent personal communication and presentation skills 
  • Impeccable attention to detail  
  • Demonstrable experience as a Designer/Artworker with a strong portfolio to display  
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and within cross-functional teams  
  • Sound creative judgement across brand, direct response, and engagement  
  • Ability to use insights to drive greater connection with consumers  
  • Well organised and meticulous   
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines plus good time management  
  • ‘Fluent’ with Adobe Creative design packages  
  • Microsoft packages plus hand drawing skills is an advantage  
  • Naturally curious and creative individual; able to think around problems  
  • Lots of drive, enthusiasm, and energy  
  • Consistently challenges and raises the bar on creative output
