We are looking an Assistant Commercial Manager to work in our Saga Services business based in Folkestone.

You will be working with the Supplier Relationship team on root cause analysis key drivers behind MoT, VOC and NPS results, customer complaints and recommend solutions.

Role Responsibility

  • Strong knowledge of market-leading insurance products incorporating key FCA principles
  • Working with your manager, in conjunction with all suppliers, with focus on Travel and Health insurance products, to ensure effective business relationships, on-going competition and securing Saga’s position as a market-leader in the general insurance sector
  • Work with suppliers to ensure products, contracts and practices conform to and incorporate ABI, GDPR & FCA regulations & principles
  • Project manage the implementation of commercial changes through the change programme
  • Deliver performance analysis with appropriate recommendations, inclusive of risk-based analysis and incident management
  • Maintain effective relationships with both our external suppliers and internal teams within Saga. Work with all suppliers for PMI, Travel and other non- insurance products to support effective on-going competition, and to support the introduction of new underwriters as necessary to deliver Saga’s business needs
  • Work with actuarial and suppliers to support net price competitiveness consistent with the Saga brands
  • Work closely with the Product team, utilising supplier engagement and management, to deliver a strategy of continuous improvement alongside new product initiatives whilst incorporating strategic principles
  • Work with your manager to support ongoing professional management and negotiation of relationships with suppliers and partners as appropriate, including their supply chains when required
  • Work with the Supplier Relationship team on root cause analysis to understand key drivers behind MoT, VOC and NPS results, customer complaints and recommend solutions
  • Intervention within the claims process, where necessary, to protect the Saga brand
  • Intervention, where necessary, to ensure the fair and effective resolution of customer disputes
  • Maintain effective relationships with management of our suppliers as well as within Saga to a Senior level

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Detailed knowledge of Health & Travel insurance
  • Experience in delivering fair customer outcomes
  • Experience in complaint handling
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data
  • FCA & regulatory awareness
  • Strong ability to work in a collaborative manner with colleagues both within Saga and with our suppliers
  • Good commercial acumen
  • Capability of learning how to manage new skills as required
  • Knowledge of general insurance markets, products and practices, with focus on Travel and PMI insurance products
  • Knowledge of general insurance products across Saga Services
  • Knowledge of marketing practices
