And right now, we are looking for an Automation Architect to lead the automation strategy and delivery for the QA function within the Insurance Technology team
By having an eye for innovation coupled with a pragmatic approach to delivery, you will be responsible for the technical strategy and delivery of testing automation across all insurance platforms including digital journeys in the insurance business. Working closely with a range of Technology professionals including Scrum teams, QA Engineers at all levels and deputising for the Head of QA & Automation as appropriate.

Role Responsibility
- Technical leadership for automated QA testing at Saga Insurance
- Creating, enhancing, and maintaining a fit-for-purpose automation framework for Saga Insurance
- Defining quantifiable KPIs to measure the progress, success, and ROI of automation
- Evaluating and implementing new software test automation tools, innovations, and tooling standards and roll these out across Saga Insurance
- Providing mentoring, upskilling, guidance, training, and direction to QA Automation Engineers of all levels
- Define the different automation job levels and the requirements of each level across Saga Insurance
- Evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of one automation framework over another
- Briefing senior leaders or stakeholders on the opportunities afforded by automation and the advantages of adopting new frameworks, tools, or technologies
- Supporting automation script development and the optimisation of these scripts when required
- Conducting automation assessments and interpersonal peer reviews for new and existing colleagues
- Conducting periodic reviews of test design and test code to drive improvement within Saga insurance
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders to review and improve delivery quality standards
The Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years as an automation architect or a similar role
- Specialist in Java, JavaScript, and C# (Other languages will be beneficial)
- Thought Leader in test automation
- Expert in API and UI automation
- Expert in unit test frameworks
- Specialist in Selenium, other tools an advantage.
- Knowledge of manual testing techniques, processes, and procedures
- Specialist in version control systems
- Expert in Agile development practices
- Specialist knowledge in test management tools
- Expert knowledge in integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of, and the ability to apply DevOps practices to automation implementations
- Experience in Test Data Management solutions
- ISTQB certification Attention to detail
