Aviation Manager

And right now, we are looking for an Aviation Manager to take full ownership of all aspects of our Aviation function. Reporting to the Product Director you will be a key in maintaining and developing all forms of aviation supply. You will bring your experience guaranteeing our Aviation supply exceeds the needs of the business. 

You will have supportive and strong leadership skills, flying the Aviation Team to new heights! With previous experience taking ownership of systems to ensure a smooth efficient aviation process from the creation of our tours through to the arrival home of our customers.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage, mentor, motivate and support the Aviation Team
  • Manage and build Airline relationships ensuring Titan retains Key Customer status, with relevant contracts in place
  • Provide an out of range flying program as requested by the product team, based on excellent knowledge of routes, airline, and likely rates available at the point flights come into range
  • As flights come into range source and negotiate best rates (primarily group fares) to cover all active products
  • Manage the Amadeus & Paxport systems relationships, seeking process improvement and automation reducing cost but improving service to all stakeholders
  • Work closely with Ground Product and Commercial teams to ensure Titan’s products are always commercially and operationally successful
  • Lead the Aviation function through crisis and operational change
  • Support all areas of the business maximise every sales opportunity, by ensuring the aviation team always provides exceptional internal customer service
  • Ensure airlines meet company Health & Safety standards and the required diligence is adhered too
  • Work with Commercial and Marketing teams to promote the highest possible take up for flight upgrades
  • Be fully aware of the UK Aviation marketplace, competitor activity and customer insights and accordingly identify and implement commercial opportunities
  • Work closely with the Content and Studio teams to ensure all promotional literature relating to airlines is both factually correct and does full justice to the product
  • Deliver informative and engaging product training to all relevant areas of the business to ensure products are sold and promoted in the most effective way
  • Support the Finance department with all BSP reconciliation queries and ADM investigations
  • Ensure any & all financial leakage from the Aviation Department is identified, understood, and rectified

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven track record of leading an Aviation Department with direct Airline relationships
  • Excellent knowledge of Amadeus GDS and other aggregator and related aviation-based systems
  • Experience of group booking would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of the scheduled, low cost and charter Aviation markets
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and strengthen working relationships with third party suppliers; both airlines and IT
  • Excellent communication, numerical and leadership skills
  • Commercial ability to provide out of range recommendations
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing market-conditions
  • Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills

  • Fluency, both written and verbal in at least one relevant European language
  • High level of numerical and literacy skills
  • High level of commercial and operational experience

  • Problem solver with an eye on the bigger picture
  • Flexibility to travel, sometimes at short notice
