Business Analyst - 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Business Analyst to work in the Operations Transformation team focussing on enhancing the online portal for Insurance customers.

As part of our Insurance Strategy we are exploring how we can use technology to improve our customer journey and lower our operational cost by increasing the channels available to our customer.

This role will work with key stakeholders in the business to build detailed requirements and business case for the online journey ahead of the development work starting in early 2020.

This is an exciting 12 month opportunity for a great communicator with the right kind of analytical and systematic approach to deliver a detailed roadmap for developing our online portal.

There will also be the opportunity to work on other workstreams and projects within the Operations Transformation plan. BA experience is not a necessity if you can demonstrate that you have the right kind of skills to approach this with innovation, collaboration and structure.

This is for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Role Responsibility

  • Capturing, validating, documenting and obtaining sign off on business requirements across all levels of change
  • To facilitate effective workshops and meetings by asking smart questioning to draw out information and outcomes
  • To have ownership of deliverables
  • To ensure effective stakeholder management
  • To continually learn and share lessons
  • To maintain knowledge of the project and change lifecycles
  • To maintain knowledge of project methodologies utilised within Saga
  • To maintain knowledge of systems, operations, and people across the business
  • To partake in any training as required for the role
  • To demonstrate and maintain a logical approach to problem solving
  • To manage challenging situations and work under pressure on multiple concurrent projects though organisation and time management skills
  • To adapt quickly to changing priorities and workloads
  • Demonstrates proficiency with Saga’s methodologies
  • To ensure actions, risks, issues, and decisions are logged against appropriate change items in accordance with the best practice requirements of Change Management
  • Evaluate multiple options before helping the project team settle on a solution
  • Make recommendations for delivery options

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work in a faced paced environment with changing priorities
  • Relevant tool-set and Business Analyst qualifications
  • Competent in Business Analyst Practices
  • Competent in use of Microsoft applications
  • Excellent time management skills to enable successful delivery
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Quality focused with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Able to think creatively to see more efficient ways of doing things
  • Quick and flexible learner with aptitude for new processes and technologies
  • Analytical approach to tasks, research and projects

  • Has a ‘Can do’ attitude and willingness to go the extra mile when required
  • Ability and confidence to challenge and influence peers to do the right thing
