A great opportunity to join our marketing team for Saga Magazine and our new consumer website; exceptional.com. This reaches thousands of customers and potential new customers each day. As the CRM Manager you will manage the marketing data and CRM campaign activity such as growing the customer data base, subscription / membership management, selection of data, e-mail building and testing the journey of our customers across brands.
Due to our growth strategy, this FTC could become a permanent role in the future, but for now a great opportunity for passionate data marketing expert to gain exposure as a CRM Manager in an organisation offering a magazine publication and a growing digital media product.
You will be leading the digital CRM & testing programme for Saga Media (Exceptional.com + Saga Magazine), and the direct marketing programme for Saga Magazine, using the Adobe toolkit and supporting analytics.
The key focus in this role is to grow traffic to Exceptional.com to achieve Saga Media’s commercial objectives through best practice in email marketing and support the commercial objectives of the print magazine through delivery of an effective and efficient direct marketing campaign.
** Remote/home working ** With a hybrid approach requiring some team days in one of our London or Kent offices. You will need to be within a reasonable commuting distance to undertake this role.
Role Responsibility
Joining us as the CRM Manager, you will be line managing a marketing executive and be fully accountable for the following;
- Lead all aspects of the CRM programme for Saga Media (online & offline to cover both email and traditional digital marketing for Saga Exceptional + Saga print Magazine).
- Plan and implement campaign-led email marketing campaigns to support Saga Media’s commercial objectives.
- Be able to select campaign prospects from the databases for CRM, marketing campaigns and operational comms across the whole Media business.
- Build effective & accurate Adobe workflows to facilitate email newsletter campaigns. (Adobe Campaign /AEC)
- Generate reports on delivery and success metrics (e.g. open rates, click throughs, conversions) – in conjunction with our performance analyst within the Saga Media team.
- Report on creative and data tests to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our email CRM and content marketing.
- Actively growing the subscriber base through ongoing improvement in consent/re-consent journeys (sign-ups).
- Building an integrated email comms approach across Saga Magazine and Saga Media.
- Work with Head of Marketing to develop optimum contact rules (e.g. welcome/onboarding and frequency controls) to ensure a consistent customer experience across the Saga brand.
- Work with the wider Saga Media Team, Saga Marketing Community and Group Data teams to share learnings, ensure best practice is being applied, with a focus on constant improvement & problem solving.
- Lead all change projects which affect this area, e.g. migration of Saga Magazine to Adobe and the creation of a highly effective content marketing strategy for Saga Media/Exceptional.com
- Be a visible ambassador for CRM excellence within Saga Media & the wider Saga Marketing community.
The Ideal Candidate
We require an exceptional marketing candidate who is keen to join us for 12 months to ensure continuity of this critical CRM management work. You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
- Be self-sufficient and able to work independently at pace.
- Have a flexible approach to project work and a willingness to access additional responsibilities.
- Be highly numerate with an exceptional eye for detail and accuracy while working with large data pools.
- Able to balance multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously – highly organised with great time management.
- Have a track record of performance and delivery in a B2C marketing role.
Desirable:
- Experienced in CRM/digital CRM – ideally - Adobe Campaign & Analytics.
- Proven ability to work with new and emerging technologies to deliver change and improvement.
