As a Commercial Executive at Saga Travel, you’ll be at the heart of our Ocean Cruise Commercial team, helping to make sure our fantastic holidays and cruises are ready to sell, accurately priced and presented beautifully to our customers.

It’s a role with real variety. You’ll work across pricing, inventory, promotional content and revenue management, while partnering with teams right across Saga from Sales, Marketing and Studio to our teams onboard. You’ll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference to both our customers and our commercial performance, while learning from experienced colleagues and building your career in a brilliant travel business.

We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. This role requires you to be working from our Folkstone office a minimum of 3times a week.

Role Responsibility

You’ll provide key support to the Ocean Cruise Commercial Manager and the wider Travel Commercial team, helping us optimise revenue while keeping our customers firmly at the heart of every decision. Accuracy, pace and collaboration will be important, as you’ll be working across a wide range of products and promotional channels.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Ensure promotional material is accurate across all channels, including pricing, terms and conditions and revenue messaging.

• Work closely with our Studio and Marketing teams to make sure content is delivered accurately and to agreed deadlines.

• Communicate pricing information clearly to internal and external customers.

• Work to sailing deadlines to berth ships and release passenger manifests, supporting this essential legal requirement.

• Manage Ocean inventory, including allocating guarantee cabins.

• Monitor hotel and other travel inventory, including flights, requesting additional space where required and responding to room requests.

• Spot, propose and implement opportunities to maximise revenue and contribute to pricing and capacity reviews.

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience, balancing commercial decisions with putting the customer first.

• Work closely with our Ocean onboard teams to support an efficient process for manifest release.

• Support the Commercial Manager with revenue management strategy, including actioning retro pricing decisions.

• Assist with pricing input and checking reservation system packages so products are accurate and ready for sale.

• Create and circulate inventory reports as required, including from Destiny.

• Maintain and develop competitor analysis and carry out competitor research for new and existing products.

• Provide support across the wider Travel Commercial team as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is naturally organised, commercially curious and loves getting the detail right. You’ll enjoy working with numbers and data, while understanding that behind every booking, price and piece of inventory is a customer looking forward to their next adventure.

You’ll bring:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.

• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to monitor trends and booking patterns.

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload and deadlines.

• The ability to input and manage large volumes of data quickly, accurately and to agreed deadlines.

• A collaborative approach, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Studio and our onboard teams.

• Experience within the Travel industry or a Commercial environment.

• Experience with reservation or commercial systems would be an advantage, particularly Taurus.

• A positive and supportive team player.

• Technically and commercially astute.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Incopy/Monday.com and Taurus.

• Knowledge of Destiny, our Revenue Management system.

• Customer-focused, with the commercial awareness to make balanced decisions.
