This is a newly created role at Saga Money. You will be joining a growing Marketing function. Our skilled Copywriter will be responsible for creating copy for a wide range of marketing materials across an array of channels; online and offline, digital/print ads, marketing emails, newsletters and website content across the personal finance division of Saga. We have a fast-growing product portfolio including savings accounts, a savings platform, equity release and legal services. Plus, exciting product launches on the horizon. In this role you will have the chance to play a key part in the launch of these new products to market!

Role Responsibility

As the copywriter, you will be reporting directly to the Partnerships Marketing Manager and work closely with our Acquisition Lead, CRM consultants and the wider marketing team. The Saga Money team get together in London 1 or 2 times a month. Most of your role will be homebased with some Hybrid working.

The main areas of your copywriting responsibilities will be;

  • To write clear, persuasive, original copy within a defined brand tone of voice.
  • Able to clearly articulate and present ideas across the teams.  
  • Construct and write engaging content for emails, articles and/or advertising to drive engagement and action across all areas of Marketing including acquisition and nurturing of prospect customers.
  • To fully collaborate across the Saga Money marketing team to generate market relevant concepts and ideas which can be rolled out across the business.
  • To study creative briefs to determine copy requirements, liaise with the wider creative and copywriting community plus various stakeholders to manage copy output and the associated process of ensuring all copy is approved and compliant with all requirements of Saga and the FCA.  
  • To fully own the copy, amending, revising, or developing copy in response to feedback from our Marketing and cross- functional stakeholders and partners.

The Ideal Candidate

You would have already worked as a Copywriter and have knowledge and experience of personal finance products with a sound understanding of a heavily regulated market.

Your career so far will need to demonstrate the following skills and abilities to be selected for the interview stage;

  • Previous experience of writing personal finance copy either from an agency, publishers or in-house financial product-based role.   
  • Be accurate at proofreading detailed copy across multiple channels.
  • Demonstrate the ability to minimise marketing and legal jargon to create conversational copy which engages with our audience.
  • Have the desire of implementing self-prompted research in current/upcoming industry trends and best-practice ways of working.
  • Have knowledge of SEO principles and the ability to write content optimised for search engines.
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously, especially across a diverse range of content types, e.g., web copy, print and digital ads, emails, direct mailing, T&Cs and product communications.
  • Experience within emerging media and performance-oriented brand copywriting.
  • Have a working knowledge of content management tools, we currently use Adobe Acrobat.
