Right now, Saga Cruises are looking for a talented Crewing Partner to join us, reporting to the Head of Crewing.
As Crewing Partner – Ocean (Deck and Technical), you will play a key role in ensuring our colleagues onboard our Cruise vessels within the Deck and Technical area are able to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests. This is achieved by leading and developing our recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching and operational programmes whilst delivering on our people strategy.

Role Responsibility
- Vessel Visits to build relationships with HODs and individuals under remit
- Establish and provide ongoing Line management, setting direction and providing support to all Saffron employed Saga Cruise colleagues on board within the Deck and Technical Area.
- Leads and implements Recruitment, Training and Rotations for all onboard colleagues within the Deck and Technical area.
- Advising and owning the performance management of onboard crew and their employment contract matters
- Onboarding and offboarding of colleagues
- Coordination and reporting of E-learning
- Responsible for delivering and action planning Saga Engagement Survey
- To operate within the set budget and maximise opportunities to reduce cost where possible without negatively impacting the guest experience.
- To attend vessels at regular intervals to provide feedback and deliver necessary updates.
- Ensures compliance relating to Certification and other documents required to perform role onboard.
The Ideal Candidate
- Must have the right to work and reside in the UK
- Understanding of a Cruising crewing function (or relevant similar industry)
- A talented manager, preferably with a proven track record of working in Crewing, HR or Employee Relations, either on or off shore.
- Demonstratable experience in budget management.
- Demonstratable experience in Deck and Technical STCW regulations and compliance.
- Strong leadership skills – able to demonstrate and align to the company’s values (Precision pace, empathy, curiosity & collaboration)
- Demonstrable ability to coach, develop and manage performance
- A genuine passion to ensure Guests receive an exceptional experience
- Ability to build lasting relationships, both internally and externally
- Commercially aware
- Motivated, target driven and results orientated with strong customer service ethos
- Innovative and creative with a constructive and enthusiastic approach to solving problems
- Excellent time management
- Strong communicator both written and verbal
