And right now, we are looking for a Trainee Data Governance Analyst to work within our Data Governance Team and being a part of our wider Group Data department. As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships, leading the market with innovative insurance and financial products, and creating thousands of unforgettable memories for our loyal holidaymakers who are at the heart of the Saga brand. 

You will be responsible for proactively finding and solving problems with our data, and will work closely with colleagues in IT, especially CHUB and source systems to resolve data quality and governance issues. Role Responsibility

  • Writing basic SQL code, to organise, connect and query data, experience would beneficial but not essential.
  • Day to day management, running and reporting on routine enquiries and utilities to monitor data quality
  • Day to day maintenance of Data Governance tracking systems related to data quality & reconciliation, Data Protection issues and general issue management
  • Supporting a programme of data quality improvements to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Generating metrics associated with governance and quality assurance as required
  • Ensuring I am up to date with all relevant Data Governance processes and procedures
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to make sure my team and I support Saga’s strategic initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience of writing SQL to query and update database Tables (Preferred not essential)
  • Any programming experience
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Pro-active, and focused on business objectives.
  • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Able to work in a flexible and agile environment
