As we shift towards becoming a more digital-first organisation, this newly created role will be paramount in helping us deliver our digital transformation and venture into new digital marketing spaces. 

You will have strong digital copywriting experience. You will bring a very hands-on approach to tasks and thrive working on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) friendly Digital Copy and Content.  

This really could be the opportunity for you to own, shape and curate what Digital Copy looks like for our Insurance business. You will be working cross-functionally and covering a diverse portfolio of financial services products.

Role Responsibility

  • Write clear, persuasive, original copy within a defined brand tone of voice 
  • Clearly articulate and present ideas to generate excitement 
  • Support with the creation and implementation of digital copy across several platforms e.g., email, social, CMS, SEO etc. 
  • Write blog posts, content pieces, articles and/or advertising to drive traffic across all areas of Marketing (e.g., Prospecting to Acquisition through to Retention) 
  • Work in a close-knit partnership with the creative team to generate excellent concepts and ideas 
  • Study copy and/or creative briefs to find digital copy requirements, liaise with wider creative and copywriting community plus various stakeholders to manage copy output and the associated process of ensuring all copy is approved and compliant 
  • Amend, revise, or develop copy in response to feedback from our Marketing and cross- functional stakeholders 
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment on several projects at once 
  • Work closely with key Marketing leads on developing existing and/or creating new copy platforms utilising digital copy tools such as COBRA to drive succinct and clear copy briefs 
  • Proofread copy to check spelling and grammar 
  • Develop and deliver innovative digital copy across all marketing activities, programmes, and initiatives in support of Marketing and/or Trading gain 
  • Demonstrate understanding of consumer insight/s that can help drive creative ideation and solutions – and how this might change throughout a calendar year or when seasonality is a factor e.g., for topical content curation 
  • Contribute and support the bringing together of design and copy 
  • Work with and liaise with the wider creative, copywriting and front-end development teams to share ideas, stimulate imaginations and produce fantastic final creative work 

 

The position reports to the Creative Services Manager but will be required to work closely with our in-house creative and copywriting teams as well as work within a matrix fashion supporting both the Director of Marketing, Services and Personal Finance plus the other Heads of within Marketing as and when required (both within SSL & SPF + Group).

The Ideal Candidate

  • Digital Copy experience within marketing, advertising, digital or media agency and/or client organisation; with a strong copy portfolio to display skills 
  • Experience with integrated advertising campaigns across multiple media channels, digital and marketing touchpoints, and the ability to demonstrate copy impact on the brand and business performance 
  • Experience blending on and offline copy across multi-touchpoint journeys including SEO, Social, Web environments (UX/CX) plus digital advertising 
  • Knowledge of emerging media and performance-oriented brand copywriting 
  • The ability to reduce marketing speak to create conversational and humanised copy 
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively juggling diverse writing demands 
  • Excellent communication skills and a meticulous eye for detail 
  • A positive, can-do approach to creative problem solving 
  • Understanding of and passion for inbound/content marketing 
  • Experience presenting to and challenging Marketing stakeholders 
  • Excellent personal communication and presentation skills  
  • Sound copy judgement across brand, direct response, and engagement 
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines plus good time management 
  • Degree in English or equivalent copywriting experience 
  • Naturally curious and creative individual; able to think around problems 
  • High levels of drive, enthusiasm, and energy 
  • Consistently challenges and raises the bar on digital output
