Here at Saga, we are building a ground-breaking media business, and need exceptional people to join our Audience Development team at the ground level.

You will be responsible for growing Saga Media’s digital audience, primarily of our content publishing website, but also supporting social media and newsletter audience growth. You will use your data and analytical skills, plus your natural instincts and understanding of what makes good content, to inform content strategy that engages and excites our growing online audience. 

Our Digital Marketing & SEO Executive will contribute to audience growth by executing key operational tasks that enable Saga Media to create the very best content that our audience wants to read. Under the guidance of the Head of Audience Development and Audience Development Manager, you will create and share performance reports, audit content, and deliver trending terms, keyword research and competitor gap analysis, as well as picking up other marketing administrative tasks.

** Remote/home working ** With a hybrid approach requiring some team days in one of our London / Kent / Wiltshire offices. You will need to be within a reasonable commuting distance to undertake this role.

Role Responsibility

You will be joining a growing team as our Digital Marketing & SEO Executive, reporting into our Head of Audience Development and working alongside an in-house team of B2C content and marketing experts; audience developers, Social Media Creators, film and video producers, content writers, market insight, creative designers and brand champions.

Working as the Digital Marketing & SEO Executive, you will be responsible for the following areas;   

  • Creating and sharing traffic and ranking reports using Google Analytics, Parse.ly, Wincher and others.
  • Building dashboards using Looker Studio and Dash This.
  • Undertaking keyword research, including identifying trending terms using Keyword Tool iO, Similar Web, Google Trends and others.
  • Consistently monitoring competitor gap analysis across the market.
  • Assisting the team with auditing content across our multi channels.
  • Keen to research the market and keep ahead of the latest digital marketing trends.

The Digital Marketing & SEO Executive will need to demonstrate the following skills and ideally have some knowledge and experience having worked in a similar role;  

  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of SEO and social media algorithms.
  • Be familiar with content websites and social media platforms.
  • Have an understanding of what is impactful content for a consumer audience. (B2C)
  • Can demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Can translate and present on data sets / data analytics. Numerical literacy.
  • Basic data analysis.
  • Be a competent user of Microsoft Office (in particular Excel) or Google Workspace (in particular Google Sheets).
  • Be confident to share your ideas for content and use data to support your concepts.  
  • Demonstrable interest in the media/online publishing industry.

Desirable;

  • Previously worked in a similar role at a content publisher.
     
  • Can demonstrate a working understanding how to maximise organic search visibility through implanting on-site SEO best practices.
