…And right now, we are looking for a Digital Performance Manager to join us. In this highly visible and hands on position, you will drive commercial trading performance with Saga’s digital marketing channels and secure Saga’s position as a market-leader in the over 50s general insurance category. Whilst this role manages a team, you will also get to be hands on. 

Our marketing Insurance team are going through a big period of change and this is a rare opportunity to be able to influence and drive that change for a well-known and specialist brand.  

You will have a background in trading and performance and supported an above the line brand led marketing strategy in a regulated environment. You will bring a strong commercial understanding with experience of programmatic platforms.

Role Responsibility

  • Implement, develop, and deliver strong digital acquisition plans that put Saga in front of the customer during their 360⁰ touchpoint decision journey covering awareness, consideration, research, evaluation, and decision 
  • Develop lead generation campaigns to attract and build relationships with our leads who then become customers 
  • Deliver detailed inputs and analysis across all core product categories to enable the success in our digital trading, likewise, provide insight and analysis on product underperformance with suggested remedial activities 
  • Identify and promote product categories where customer demand is high and capitalise on the opportunity 
  • Build and maintain bi-monthly trading forecast plans and provide confidence of ability to trade at agreed levels 
  • Own parts of the marketing technology stack to ensure that we are using the correct channels to attract the right customers 
  • Constantly reviewing and understanding the needs of the customer, their motivations and purchase behaviours and reporting back to the business 
  • Identifying improvements to acquisition performance in channels and onsite experience and shaping roadmaps to implement any changes that are required 
  • Manage a team of Digital Marketing Consultants across all paid media and lead generation channels, focusing on driving profitable growth across the Saga product suite 
  • Using your strong hands-on digital marketing expertise to drive commercial success across all aspects of digital marketing channels including, but not limited to Programmatic Media, paid search, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), paid social, affiliates and email marketing to attract, convince and convert new business insurance policies across Saga’s insurance portfolio 
  • To ensure delivery of business performance requirements and that the standards of service for Saga customers is consistent with Saga brand, TCF outcomes & contractual SLAs 
  • Manage all agency relationships and be the key SME (Subject Matter Expert) for our relationship with Google; this relationship needs to be developed and utilised to help drive our strategy for digital growth 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Solid working knowledge across all digital channels with proven experience of developing, implementing, and analysing large digital acquisition strategies 
  • Working knowledge of using Google Ads and Facebook Business Manager 
  • Technical understanding on onsite SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and content management principles for SEO performance purposes 
  • Previous experience within Financial Services or a similar regulated environment would be advantageous 
  • Experience of leading or working within a digital transformation programme would be highly advantageous 
  • Good working knowledge of general insurance products and practices with experience in personal lines insurance 
  • Strong analytical and trading skills with a record of accomplishment of delivering profitable trading growth 
  • Excellent personal communication and presentation skills and able to come across as a professional, credible, respected representative of Saga 
  • Project management skills – able to lead and manage projects across both partners and Saga 
  • Strong influential leadership and people management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across functions 
  • Lots of drive, enthusiasm, and energy 
  • Consistently challenges and raises the bar on business and employee performance 
  • Commercially minded, with a strong ‘results led’ focus
