As an Enterprise Risk Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing day-to-day aspects of risk management and liaison within a particular part of the Saga Insurance Business Unit.  You will have the organisational and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate closely with business stakeholders across multiple entities and levels of seniority.

This role will provide key functional support to the Heads of Insurance Risk and lead as required in the fulfilment, development, implementation, and monitoring of the risk management framework for the Saga Insurance BU.

Role Responsibility

  • Supporting, leading and managing the fulfilment, implementation, and monitoring of the enterprise risk management framework for the Saga Insurance Division
  • Monitoring and overseeing the efficiency and effectiveness of risk management processes
  • Ensuring that the risk appetite framework is effective and supporting the facilitation of its utilisation, regular review, update, and reporting
  • Ensuring the Insurance BU captures loss data in accordance with Risk Policies to help inform the decision-making process concerning cost effective loss mitigation strategies
  • Actively promoting a risk culture that encourages appropriate risk taking, aligned to strategy and risk appetite, with effective and timely response to risk events according to the risk they present to the business
  • Ensuring Insurance management have a sound understanding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Providing 2LOD support, challenge, and guidance
  • Ensuring there is an open and collaborative relationship with both the 1LOD and 2LOD teams
  • Providing 2LOD review, analysis and challenge of risk reporting
  • Producing risk papers for all relevant Operating Entities
  • Providing 2LOD reviews of key projects and products within the business to ensure positive customer and business outcomes

The Ideal Candidate

  • Ideally a few years industry risk experience
  • Proven track record working effectively through change with senior management on the risk agenda
  • Accountancy or Risk qualification or similar desirable
