Evening Cleaner Supervisor

We have a great opportunity for a Supervisor Evening Cleaner to join us here at Saga. This role is an important part of the facilities team who strive to facilitate, to help and support the Group function of the business.

Your role will be to work with your team of day and evening cleaners to ensure that the building is always kept in pristine condition. You will be responsible for ensuring that the team are providing a swift response to any issues that may arise in the building. You will use your excellent organisational skills to create rotas and respond to any queries by email.

Role Responsibility

  • To assist the Housekeeper to resolve any daily issues which arise in respect of the cleaning of the building(s)
  • Good communication skills are required, as the role will involve liaising with all levels of staff throughout the business. (i.e. building occupants) 
  • To ensure the reporting and speedy resolution of any housekeeping problems which may constitute a Health & Safety concern
  • Ensure office waste is disposed or recycled in a proper fashion daily
  • Ensuring that any Health and Safety issues are escalated senior management as appropriate
  • Assisting in setting up for events & presentations, both internal and external
  • Assist other cleaning team members in performing daily tasks as instructed by supervisor 
  • Other general cleaning duties as required 
  • Cleaning supplies stock management 
  • Liaising with preferred suppliers and ordering consumables/supplies ·
  • Manage staff including performing of one to one meetings and local training e.g. Team meetings, Toolbox Talks, specific training and performance management of team 
  • Help Desk Actions 
  • Implementation of any Health and Safety policy relevant to the Housekeeping Team 
  • Assist other team members in all two-man tasks 
  • As a working supervisor, supervise the evening cleaning team

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, knowledge and experience

  • Training covering COSHH awareness (Control of substances Hazardous to Health)
  •  First aid (preferred)
  •  Risk Assessment training
  • ·Manual Handling
  • BICSc certified (British Institute Cleaning Professionals Skills Suite)
  • IT Skills (MS office competent)
  • Supervisory Experience
  • Office cleaning or similar experience

Education and qualifications

  • Good Secondary Education

  • Ability to Multi-Task
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Self-Motivated
  • Team Worker but also happy to work unsupervised
