And right now, we are looking for a Finance Manager Insurance Costs to join us on a fixed term contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the Financial and Commercial aspects of costs management and commercial support for the Saga Insurance business (Saga Services and CHMC). You will ensure that the finance function delivers support, challenge & insight for all financial aspects of those businesses. You will be the primary business partner for all cost centres including Operations and will provide ad-hoc support as required to Travel operations. 

This is a great role to really get involved with the commercial side if accounting and being the primary business partner for the insurance business, this role is sure to provide great exposure and career progression opportunities. 

You be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with Post Qualified Experience in a similar role. You will bring commercial astuteness and have experience of being a business partner.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsibility for running the Finance function for Saga Services Ltd & CHMC 
  • Representing finance at all Operational meetings, business partnering and driving performance 
  • Directly supporting Operational directors in all commercial finance activities 
  • Management accounting for the companies including supporting Department Heads with all budgetary matters, including the delivery of budgetary targets 
  • Sole responsibility for setting budgets and forecasts for the costs 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrable competence of working at Finance Manager level within a commercial Finance capacity 
  • Able to show significant competence in Budgetary and Financial control, and delivery of tangible outputs 
  • Strong operational understanding of the business 
  • Strong accounting skills with a good understanding of control processes 
  • Good line management and leadership skills with a strong belief in developing people 
  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant with demonstrable Post Qualified Experience  
  • Up to date technical knowledge of relevant accounting and taxation issues 
  • Well-developed communication and people skills 
  • Analytically strong with the ability to challenge and think creatively
