Finance Systems Developer - SID

This role sits in the SID DataHub team, supporting the development of Finance reporting, TM1, SQL reporting packages and other Finance systems within Finance and the SID Datahub Development team.
The role has responsibility for all aspects of analysing and specifying business requirements, developing new features and defect resolution across finance systems. This includes change within the SID MI solution, business reporting, Dream, TM1 development and the MI Change Programme, both in development and in production / live.

Role Responsibility
- Deliver TM1 changes in line with best practices and within project deadlines
- Development covering both data extracted out of Datahub (PL/SQL) and data in to TM1
- Ensuring the appropriate specification, development, testing and acceptance processes are followed
- Work directly with SID QA testers to ensure high quality of delivery
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement consistent with the cultural context of the organisation
- Seek opportunities to contribute original ideas to the benefit of the team and organisation
- Participate fully in the team’s agile development process, contributing to daily scrum meetings, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives
- Perform any other duties consistent with the skill-set of the individual as required by the organisation from time to time
- Development and maintenance of Finance TM1 system
- Investigation of end user requirements, and development of required output
- Provision of estimates for fixes/enhancements requested by the business
- Assistance as required with User Acceptance Testing for the financial aspects of new releases within TIA, SID, and other financial trading systems
- To report and track defects in development packages of Finance systems
- Investigatory support for live issues within Finance aspects of business systems
- To provide a point of expert reference on system functionality, correct procedure and document content for the business
- To investigate users queries regarding potential system faults or changes
- Liaison with IT with regard to system developments
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong business analysis skills
- Experience of identifying and specifying technical business development requirements
- Good understanding and strong development skills in TM1
- Understanding PL/SQL technologies
- Experience of MI reporting and forecasting
- Demonstrable technical & problem-solving background
- Experience of system and data testing
- Excellent communication skills
- Good educational background
- Educated to degree level in a technical subject would be an advantage
- Experience of a scrum-based agile development methodology would be an advantage
- Excellent product and user system knowledge (PC/Mainframe/Internet)
- Ability to prioritise tasks and recognise business and IT development requirements
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn new products, systems and processes
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Dedicated to ensuring knowledge is kept current for both business and UAT processes
- Ability to work professionally with colleagues and management at all levels
- Ability to use own initiative or work as part of a team
- Able to competently handle different systems
- Good working knowledge of the TIA and SID
- Excellent understanding of policy accounting
- IT Skills including Excel, Word and Access
- Excellent knowledge of SQL
- Excellent communication skills required to manage the technical performance in the team and ensure dependencies with other teams are effectively managed
- Good analytical and technical skills
- Enthusiasm for personal development and learning – the desire to extend personal skill sets through continuous self-assessment
- Ability to interpret business requirements and deliver solutions that fulfil or exceed expectations
- Ability to work within an agile development environment and process
- Ability to recognise and work in line with Saga business objectives, ethos and methods
