Graduate Performance Analyst

…And right now, we are looking for a Graduate Performance Analyst at an exciting time in Saga’s history. As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships, leading the market with innovative insurance and financial products.  In this role you will be responsible for providing high quality analytics and insights at precision pace, technical data & analytics, as well as juggling multiple requirements to deliver a broad set of results and services.  

You will bring a 2:1+ degree in a maths-based subject with a proactive, hands on approach to work.

Role Responsibility

As a Performance Analyst your top 5 responsibilities will be:  

  • Being curious, questioning colleagues and peers to facilitate delivery of best in class data insights for the business.

  • Business partner support to the Insurance Claims Operation. 

  • Manipulation of large and complex datasets into structured formats to support MI reporting and analytics. 

  • Use of data and analytics skills and tools to deliver results and insights. visualisation/reporting at pace to:
    • Improve customer experience.
    • Provide top quartile colleague insight and business efficiency.
    • Deliver market leading control of indemnity spend and cost leakage.
  • Efficient production of regular MI and Insights including:
    • driving efficiency through process automation.
    • maintenance of BI reporting dashboards.

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Understanding and working with large and complex datasets.

  • Track record of using data analysis to make evidence-based recommendations. 

  • Delivery of quality results, at pace, to required deadlines. 

  • Excels at working both as an individual and as part of the team. 

  • Experience of delivering MI & Reporting through Tableau or similar BI tools. 

  • Experience of, or genuine interest in, Machine Learning and Advance Analytics techniques. 

Education and Qualifications:  

  • Good education background.  

  • Graduate with 2.1 in a numerate subject.

Personal Characteristics:  

  • Highly Numerate. 

  • Curious/Inquisitive. 

  • Passionate about data, problem solving. 

  • Organised and process orientated. 

  • Ability to explain complex problems in simple terms. 

  • Self-motivated and able to manage own priorities to deliver to deadlines. 

Primary IT Applications: 

  • Strong SQL and/or Snowflake coding. 

  • Advanced Excel. 

  • Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. 

  • Tableau. 

Relevant Statistical/Analytical Experience: (desirable) 

  • R.

  • Python.

  • Radar/Emblem.

  • VBA.
