…And right now, we are looking for an inspirational leader to take the helm of the Data Engineering Team at an exciting time when the department are focusing on building a single customer view, using top flight technology.
Reporting into the Data & Analytics Director, you will run a technical team leading its people and juggling competing priorities to deliver requirements ensuring adherence to governance. You will have technical skills, knowledge and experience to drive and deliver a technical engineering roadmap. Working closely with Data Governance, Science, BI and Data teams, you will determine priorities, manage the team’s workflow and stakeholders.
If you have extensive experience of large complex Data Engineering projects, designing and developing ETL pipelines to drive roadmaps and can help enhance the customer experience and inspire the team to succeed…. We want to hear from you!

Role Responsibility
- Drive Data Engineering roadmaps and their priorities
- Ensure Data Governance standards, polices and controls are built
- Ensure the Data Engineering deliver requirements
- Ensure all Data Engineering work is documented
- Lead and manage the Data Engineering teams workload
- Advise and contribute to delivery planning and projects for all Data Engineering elements
- Work closely with IT to ensure data security and cloud configuration always remains at an optimum performance
- Work alongside other internal teams to train and migrate them to use platforms and toolsets
- Optimise processes
- Continually look for innovative ways to make improvements based on the latest trends and research
- Effectively manage internal and external stakeholders
The Ideal Candidate
Capability, Experience & Knowledge:
- Management and leader of a technical team
- Management of project resources and budgets
- Extensive experience of large complex Data Engineering projects, designing and developing ETL pipelines
- Experience in Data Engineering techniques and concepts including data ingestion, processing and storage
- Strong programming and query language (including SQL)
- Use of MS Azure data storage, management and analytics apps
- Use of cloud based analytical skills
- Knowledge of data visualisation tools
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
Education & Qualifications:
- Educated to a degree calibre
