And right now, we are looking for an experienced Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to join our People team.
Reporting to, and working closely with the Chief People Officer, you will create and own the delivery of the DE&I strategy across Saga Group. You will partner with People Directors and the Leadership Teams of the Business Units and Enterprise areas to create meaningful interventions. The role requires a strong external focus where you will build relationships with key third party partners and industry experts to accelerate the position of Saga within the DE&I space externally.
You will also play a key role in our strategic ambition to be the champions of age in the UK, firstly supporting with the rollout of the company-wide age upskill, and by helping to create an inclusive culture where colleagues can bring their full selves to work. You will champion the colleague voice and manage an annual cycle of listening and responding to colleague feedback, as well as owning the ongoing review of our people policies – ensuring that inclusivity is at their core.
You will be an expert in Diversity, Equity and & Inclusion best practice, and be comfortable advising and challenging the business in line with this, offering thoughtful recommendations, making decisions, and delivering against goals and targets.
Role Responsibility
Accountable for:
- Building a strong partnership with the People Directors and Leadership Teams across the different Business Units and Enterprise areas.
- Owning the creation and delivery of four annual Group-wide events to mark key dates - International Women’s Day, Black History Month, Pride and Age.
- Building strong external relationships and partnerships to develop the position of Saga externally.
- Ensuring that diversity targets are communicated and delivered against across the business.
- Ensuring that the Diversity Board is successfully established and managed as part of the wider colleague listening piece.
- Owning the writing and reporting of the Gender Pay Report.
- Ensuring that DE&I is a key part of all people processes, including talent acquisition and talent & performance management.
- Creating an inclusive culture, advising, and challenging the People Directors and business units in line with this.
- Owning the ongoing future-focused review of our people policies, ensuring that they are fit for purpose and culturally moving us forward.
- Working closely with the People Directors to create function-specific interventions that support a more inclusive culture and way of working.
- Enabling and facilitating the colleague networks, empowering them to have a voice in the business.
- Managing an annual cycle of inclusion forums and listening events and respond to colleague feedback throughout the year.
- Working closely with the MI team to review delivery against our targets, and share this insight with the business leadership teams
The Ideal Candidate
You will be an expert in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion best practice, and be comfortable advising and challenging the business in line with this, offering thoughtful recommendations, making decisions, and delivering against goals and target, leveraging your knowledge of the latest people and DE&I trends. You will have strong senior level strategic business partnering skills, business acumen, communication and stakeholder management skills, and experience of project and change management, and share our values.
