Our Saga Travel Group marketing team is recruiting! It’s a great career opportunity for a marketing leader to join us as our Head of Marketing. Here you will be leading and managing a team of marketing experts, closely supporting our Marketing Director on delivering multi-channel campaigns. We have many exciting plans and a big budget to deliver for the expansion of the STG strategy.  

You’ll be responsible for executing the marketing strategy for both Saga and Titan brands with particular focus on creating innovative and impactful multi-channel campaigns to drive acquisition and retention. Using research, data and insights, sound judgement and experience you will work in close collaboration with key stakeholders in both marketing and across the business to craft annual marketing plans that deliver against our trading targets.

Truly a critical role leading our great team. You will need to drive the business performance for Saga Travel Group. Be responsible for developing high impact marketing plans to increase awareness and consideration and ultimately achieve profitable growth targets for the Titan Travel and Saga brands.  Fully responsible for generating the annual promotional calendar, media strategy and channel specific growth plans that produce year-on-year growth and deliver efficiency of marketing spend. Working in close collaboration with the digital, CRM and brand teams alongside marketing agencies, your team’s success will be measured by passenger and revenue growth, database acquisition and retention.

We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. When you do come into the office, it’ll be with a real purpose in mind – to meet with your team, to work together, and of course to socialise and celebrate too!  Across Saga Travel we use the London, Ashford in Kent and Crawley hubs.

Role Responsibility

In this role you’ll be accountable for:

  • Devising and implementing innovative, data-driven marketing campaigns using digital and traditional channels to effectively reach and engage all target audiences
  • Champion the individual product lines for both brands to build successful and differentiated go to market strategies and campaigns as well as identifying cross-sell opportunities
  • Maintain commercial focus, working closely with revenue managers to identify new audiences and promotional opportunities to grow revenue and passenger numbers profitably
  • Balance B2B and B2C requirements for the Titan brand, coordinating campaigns, marketing plans and promotions to ensure profitable growth across both distribution channels
  • Collaborate with CRM team to build customer segmentation models and planning strategies that maximise customer retention and acquisition
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and alignment of all stakeholders (Digital, CRM and Creative marketing teams plus Marketing Director and Senior Leadership Team) to achieve strategic objectives
  • Management of key media agency relationships to deliver campaign plans
  • Partner with marketing analysts to deliver market insights and accurate campaign reporting, utilising data and insights to optimise campaigns and marketing budget and improve ROI
  • Managing monthly, quarterly and annual marketing budgets to ensure an optimal mix is achieved across the awareness, consideration and decision-making stages
  • Identify new distribution channels to increase reach for both brands
  • Manage, develop and lead the marketing communications team, fostering a high performing, engaged and agile marketing function

The Ideal Candidate

During your marketing career so far, you would have already managed a high performing marketing team and be seen as a strong marketing leader. You may have previously worked for a large customer facing brand, now be keen to move into a Head of role.

You’ll also need to demonstrate the following skills, experiences and Saga Values;

•              Significant demonstrable leadership experience

•              Excellent analytical, organisational and project management skills

•              Experience of creating and leading large multi-channel marketing campaigns

•              Minimum 5-years team leadership and people development

•              Experience of agency management

•              Ability to manage budgets, controls costs and deliver strong ROI

•              Proven collaboration and cross-functional teamwork

•              Understanding of marketing strategy, media buying, research and financial acumen

•              Commercial mindset, action-oriented and data/results-driven

•              Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task while working to deadlines

•              Negotiation skills and ability to challenge

•              High levels of self-motivation and able to work in a fast-paced environment

•              Ability to build relationships, manage and influence stakeholders to achieve objectives

Desirable;

  • Have previously worked in the Travel Industry.
