We need a credible Head of Technology - Partnerships & Procurement. Someone who has been there before and made a big difference for a large complex business model. You will work alongside our Technology Operations Director and external providers in this 12 month contract where you can truly make an impact.
You will be key to providing procurement, contractual and financial governance to support Procurement across Technology. From your previous knowledge you will fully understand the technology requirements of a business like Saga. You will be able to apply your commercial judgement and contractual acumen to ensure we deliver the best capabilities aligned to Saga.
We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. When you do come into the office, it’ll be with a real purpose in mind. You will be required to attend our London office on an ad-hoc basis, as well as any travel associated with any of our partners.
Role Responsibility
As our Head of Technology - Partnerships and Procurement you will be fully accountable for all of the procurement, contractual and financial governance across Saga.
Your responsibilities, will include:
• To develop and implement comprehensive partnership strategies that support the company's objectives
• Identify potential partners and opportunities that align with the company's strategic goals
• Conduct market analysis and industry research to stay informed about emerging trends and opportunities in technology providers and strategic partnerships
• Act as the liaison between technology and all business units for Technology procurement fostering strong relationships with vendors and partners.
• Negotiate and manage contracts to ensure favourable terms and conditions for Saga
• Consistently monitoring and evaluating the performance of partners and service providers to ensure they meet or exceed expectations in line with KPIs
• Collaborate with partners to identify and implement process improvements and innovations
• Implement robust processes and tooling to enable effective partner and vendor management
• Ensure that partnership activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
• Develop and manage budgets for partnership initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
You are a visionary leader. You can identify and capitalise on opportunities to enhance the company's operational efficiency, competitiveness, and overall growth. You will be naturally comfortable working closely with the senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure that partnership strategies align with the company's long-term goals.
You will already have experience with Software Asset Management and ideally be CIPS accredited with a good understanding of SIAM (Service Integration and Management) would also be of advantage.
Other experience required includes:
• Strong understanding of technology landscape
• Proven experience of maintenance and upgrade activity of infrastructure components
• Six figure plus budget management experience
• Experience in management of both in house and 3rd party provided solutions.
• Proven track record of infrastructure transformation of service delivery capabilities.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies
• Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with external partners and service providers
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in technology vendors and strategic partnerships
