As the Head of Trade Sales you will play a vital role in the distribution of Titan Travel products through travel agents.  This important channel will play a key role in the growth of the Saga Travel Group, and specifically in the delivery of our touring business. 

You will define our strategy for this area, ensuring we maximise our partnerships with existing and new trade partners, to ensure we maximise revenue delivery, while managing also cost of sale.  As we broaden our distribution and look to international partners, you will play a key role in identifying and forming new relationships and realising these significant opportunities for growth.  You will also manage a team of sales/account managers to support their delivery of agreed KPIs. 

You'll be an expert in your area, often the first line of management for people or projects either within or across business unit, to deliver service within my budget and use information and analysis, experience, expertise and judgement to resolve non-routine problems.

Role Responsibility

  • Defining the strategy for Titan Travel’s trade distribution to ensure continuous and cost-effective growth.
  • Exceeding passenger and revenue targets.
  • Challenging our commercial arrangements to ensure a focus on the right booking channels (i.e. online) and on the right product.
  • Leading a team of sales/account managers, supporting them to deliver against agreed KPIs and managing performance.
  • Managing cost within agreed budgets, for marketing, commission, and team overheads.
  • Manage our relationships with content providers (like Traveltek and Widgety) to ensure agent have easy access to up to date info on the Titan brand.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience relevant for this job:

  • Experience in a trade sales (or account/partnership management) roles
  • Travel experience an advantage.
  • Experience in defining strategy

Operational skills relevant for this job:

  • Exceptional people management skills, particularly in a flexible/hybrid working environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to quickly form relationships.
  • Sales driven and commercially savvy.
  • An eye for identifying commercial opportunities, and the skills to translate this into results.
  • Ability to partner with other stakeholders and challenge where necessary
  • Innovative thinker constantly looking to improve ways of working.
  • Engaging and inspiring individual, influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Cost focused, with ability to manage multiple budget lines.
