And right now, we are looking for a Hotel Superintendent  to play a key role in supporting the Head of Hotel Operations and the Hotel Operations Director to deliver a first-class hotel operation to our Guests.

You will be the contract manager of product and Guest facing servicing agreements and supplier relationships. Additionally, will be the lead contact to oversee that the Ships team are effectively managing the onboard Hotel maintenance, including catering, ensuring that equipment is maintained and any necessary parts are ordered.

Role Responsibility

  • To ensure the ongoing high standard appearance, upkeep and through life management of General Public Areas, Entertainment Spaces, Cabins and Crew Recreation areas of the Spirit Class vessels and future vessels, through statutory compliant effective management.
  • Working and supporting the Technical Teams with back of house areas and equipment, where relevant.
  • Ownership of all ship support, risk management and maintenance of Brand standards on[1]board.  
  • Provide world class facilities maintenance support working closely with the on-board teams and Technical Managers ashore.
  • Provide expertise and guidance, viable solutions and corrective actions to address issues on-board.  
  • Planning, preparation, coordination and project management for ship Guest & Crew facing areas for refits, dry and wet docks within the Hotel and Crew areas.
  • Provide data and support for future strategy planning of facilities across the Spirit fleet.
  • Project management of all works completed on-board from initiation to final evaluation post project.
  • Oversee the Hotel maintenance system giving support to the ships teams and guiding where necessary.
  • Asset management plan for major hotel and facilities assets.
  • Providing assistance, guidance and support to the senior team within Saga Cruises.

The Ideal Candidate

 

  • Previous experience of working in the cruise industry at a senior level, either on or off shore.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Externally referenced and focussed on continuously seeking professional development – to ensure that Saga’s approach to hotel operations is both relevant and future proof.
  • Strong commerciality and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrable IT proficiency (, Microsoft Office essential)
  • Previous management experience and with the ability to lead and influence a diverse and remote work-force.
  • Demonstrated FF&E management.
  • Strong knowledge of SOLAS, Flag and Class requirements.
  • Good knowledge of vessel construction such as VSP (USPHS) – preferred.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to make decisions with confidence or identify when an issue should be escalated.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and through presentation of data in reports.
  • Persuasion, negotiation, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to see the bigger picture and use initiative to bring new ideas into the business.
  • Collaborative team player who is resourceful and able to mobilise and influence a team.
  • Innovative & solutions orientated with a ‘can do’ attitude and a dedication to driving change and continuous improvement.
