And right now, we are looking for a strategically-minded  Human  Resources  Business  Partner to join the People Team at an exciting time in Saga’s history. As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships, leading the market with innovative insurance and financial products, and creating thousands of unforgettable memories for our loyal holidaymakers who are at the heart of the Saga brand. 

You will partner with the Business and People Leadership Teams to create a purpose-led culture, build capability and create capacity to deliver our strategic ambitions. You will be responsible for delivering the annual People Plan in Insurance, working collaboratively with the colleagues across the People Team; enabling the right resources to meet business expectations.  

You will have successfully operated in a strategic partnering previously where you have enabled the culture, purpose and values of your organisation whilst supporting Managers to lead by example and ensuring a positive colleague experience. And, importantly, you will be a real thought leader in the HR space where you have designed and led innovative programmes that have utlised your creative vision.

  • Working collaboratively with other teams to make sure your work supports Saga’s strategic initiatives. 

  • Understanding the business as well as the Leadership team understanding who makes the money and how; what the strengths and weaknesses of the business are compared to the competition; how the dynamics of the business work, and how a change in one area will affect other areas.  

  • Keeping up to date and renewing skills. 

  • Being flexible and open to change  

  • Taking a step back and taking an objective view enabling me to challenge and take a longer-term view.  

  • Taking charge and challenging decisions, thinking up innovative ways of doing things and having the guts to question traditional systems. 

  • Measuring People initiatives using the results and data in the business with talent, talent outcomes, performance, learning, DBI and how it affects the bottom line and culture. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge of the latest People trends and how strategic partnering is optimised 

  • Experience strategic business partnering 

  • Knowledge of C-suite roles and accountabilities 

  • Regulated businesses – FCA 

  • Business Acumen 

  • Communications skills – challenge and influencing 

  • Stakeholder Management skills 

  • Project & Change Management 

  • Digital skills 

  • And, importantly, you will be a real thought leader in the HR space where you have designed and led innovative programmes that have utlised your creative vision.
