Saga Media is a brand new business under the Saga Group, bringing accessible, valuable content to our customers. Lead Ad Tech Engineer you will play a critical role as we develop and scale the business.
You will lead, coordinate, manage and develop the ad tech team and its technology by exhibiting strong leadership, technical knowledge and process, promoting the adoption of world-class engineering tools and development methodologies. In the initial phase, Saga Media products will largely be focussed on delivering content online with the ability to monetise through advertising and affiliates.

Role Responsibility
- A hands-on manager of the ad tech team within Saga Media.
- Procuring the necessary tools and services required to develop world-class media products.
- Prioritising workflows and effectively managing relationships to satisfy stakeholders and deliver software releases in a timely manner.
- Facilitating sprint planning and daily stand-ups by installing the necessary workflow processes, tools and work culture.
- Working closely with Product and UX to build measurably effective user-focussed product solutions.
- Mentoring team members in order to facilitate personal development, job satisfaction and growth within the department.
- Researching the latest technologies and attending necessary seminars or conventions to acquire and share the latest technical knowledge and practice.
- Production of detailed documentation to maximise team knowledge, process and efficiency.
The Ideal Candidate
- Large scale experience in advertising software development, scripting, and people management.
- In-depth knowledge of online publishing platform and the advertising industry, services, and technologies.
- Production experience in public cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerisation.
- Prior experience with SRE or SRE concepts.
- Full-stack engineer versed in modern web tech such as JavaScript, NodeJS, React/Redux etc.
- Extensive experience in using system monitoring tools and automated testing frameworks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of databases.
- Familiar with various operating systems.
