…And right now, we are looking for a Lead Performance Analyst within our Insurance business at an exciting time in Saga’s history. As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships and leading the market with innovative insurance and financial products.

As analytics professional, in this role you will be responsible for the development and delivery of analytics insights to our Claims operation, including advanced analytics modelling and BI/MI production, reporting and visualisation.   Being results orientated you will have a record of accomplishment in effective communication and deliver at pace.    

With your experience you will contribute to the personal and technical development of yourself and the team.  And you contribute to the development of Machine Learning and advanced analytics improvement across Saga.

Role Responsibility

As a Lead Performance Analyst your top 5 responsibilities will be:  

 Use of data, analytics, and modelling skills to deliver results and insights at pace to: 

  • ​Improve customer experience.
  • Provide top quartile colleague insight and business efficiency.

  • Deliver market leading control of indemnity spend and cost leakage. 

Efficient production of regular MI and Insights including:

  • driving efficiency through process automation. 

  • maintenance of BI reporting dashboards.

Clear communication of insight, bringing actionable recommendations to the fore. 

Supporting the personal and technical development of both the individual and the team. 

Supporting Saga’s culture and purpose and contributing to open and collaborative relationships and across the business. 

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:  

  • Delivery of quality results, at pace, to deadlines. 

  • Track record of using data analysis to make evidence-based recommendations.

  • Proven ability to explain complex problems in simple terms. 

  • Working as an individual and as part of a team. 

  • Working with large & complex datasets. 

  • Experience of Machine Learning, Mathematical & Statistical Modelling and Advance Analytics techniques. 

  • Experience of delivering MI & Reporting through Tableau or similar BI tools.  

  • MS Azure data storage, management & analytics apps. 

  Education and Qualifications:  

  •   Degree Level or equivalent.  

  Personal Characteristics:  

  • Highly Numerate and passionate about data and problem solving.  
  • Curious/Inquisitive.

  • Stakeholder Management skills. 

  • Excellent communication & technical presentation skills. 

  • Self-motivated and able to manage own priorities to deliver to deadlines. 

  • Organised and process orientated.  

  Primary IT Applications:  

  • SQL and/or Snowflake coding.  
  • Advanced Excel.  

  • Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.  

  • Tableau.  

  Relevant Statistical/Analytical Experience: (desirable)  

  • R. 
  • Python. 

  • Radar/Emblem. 

  • VBA.
