An opportunity has arisen within the CHMC department for a MI Analyst based in Folkestone.

You will be responsible for the generation of performance and analysis reports, development of our analytics dashboards and providing the business with insight on performance trends.

Role Responsibility

The MI Analyst is responsible for:

  • Working with the business to understand and capture their reporting requirements
  • Delivering actionable reporting to the business utilising SQL and analytics tools
  • Utilising data visualisation tools to visualise performance and trend analysis to business owners in a digestible format
  • Providing the business guidance on performance trends
  • Providing a point of expert reference on reporting, the data used and the layout of information to the business
  • Investigating any discrepancies in the MI and KPIs being used, to provide highly accurate data for the operation to utilise
  • Completing ad hoc analysis on data sets to identify and report upon performance trends that lead to actionable change within the claim operations
  • Configuring and maintaining automated reporting
  • Testing the Application Database Mirror and Tableau Database Mirror development
  • Recognising anomalies in the Application Database Mirror and report findings back to Business Intelligence to resolve
  • Providing the business with guidance on consolidation and streamlining data provision to ensure department and operational efficiency
  • Constructively challenging internal database structures and highlighting barriers to delivering effective reporting
  • Supporting the development of junior roles through auditing, observations, coaching and mentoring
  • Facilitating the business’ scorecard provision process
  • Contributing to the analysis, design, development and delivery of data migration, data integration and data warehousing projects by performing data mapping and data conversion activities using ETL tools

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in SQL
  • Experience in other programming languages such as Python and R are advantageous
  • Strong Microsoft Office Package knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • It is preferred, but not imperative, that the candidate has similar industry and process knowledge
  • Experience in statistical analysis including descriptive, inferential and predictive skills
  • Must have an interest in industry standards and available software, to support and enhance delivery, analysis and insight of data reports
  • Strong numerical and statistical capabilities
  • Comfortable working with large data sets
  • Experience in working with Tableau is advantageous
  • Experience in providing a business with trend analysis to support it in increasing revenue, controlling cost and/or improving customer journeys
  • Knowledge of statistical modelling techniques such as machine learning is advantageous
