Job Introduction

This role is an important part of the Finance team who strive to facilitate, to help and support the AICL business.

Our AICL business has had recent investment and therefore the business and its teams are growing. To deal with this growth, our AICL Finance team is going through an exciting period of change to build processes and systems. 

In this role, you'll support the team with planning and analysis as well as commercial and operational support for our claims management and underwriting businesses.You'll bring a technical background, ideally with experience gained from insurance and an understanding of Solvency II or IFRS 17. You'll have strong Excel skills and be CIMA/ACCA or ACA qualified.

Role Responsibility

  • Production of AICL’s monthly internal and external financial reports in order to track the company’s performance, working closely with the Control and Commercial Finance functions to ensure all data requirements are quickly and efficiently delivered, including preparation and review of monthly management accounts forecast
  • Preparing monthly performance variance analysis at a detailed revenue/spend level vs prior forecast and budget for presentation to management
  • Identification of any emerging issues or risks, proposing appropriate and proportional solutions
  • Preparation of full year forecast and variance analysis for PEC Services Limited
  • Preparation of the monthly finance data requirements of AICL and PEC for Saga Group reporting, utilising the Group’s consolidation software, Cognos Controller
  • Preparation of AICL’s 5-year plan and budget models in accordance with business needs and central data requirements, including understanding of inputs and detailed analysis of variances version on version
  • Working closely with the AICL Actuarial department to ensure financial data used across the business is accurate, consistent and reconciled
  • Production of monthly PowerPoint packs for senior management review
  • Ensure the business and our customers are always supported, including the speedy resolution of payment and finance related IT issues
  • Ad hoc support on commercial projects for both AICL and CHMC

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Good Excel skills
  • TM1 or equivalent system experience would be beneficial 
  • Strong management accounting knowledge
  • Previous experience working in the insurance industry is highly desirable

Education and Qualifications:

  • ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified

  • Organised and proactive approach
  • Self-motivated and passionate about delivering quality
  • Flexible approach to workload with an ability to deal with ad-hoc requests on a timely basis
