And right now, we are looking for a Marketing Executive to join our Touring Marketing Team.

There are currently 2 roles available within the recently expanded Touring Marketing Team. These roles would suit both an experienced marketer, offering a great opportunity to be part of a high class and award-winning team – most recently winning 2 x Gold DM awards for use of data and personalisation, as well as a candidate with relevant education who may be just starting out in their marketing career and keen to learn multi-channel approaches first-hand. 

As key members of the marketing team your role is to support the Marketing Managers with campaign planning and delivery for both Saga Touring and Titan Travel. Helping shape the annual plan and be responsible for briefing campaigns into the Creative and Digital teams, providing accurate and concise direction within the stipulated deadlines. 

These roles are directly responsible for planning, deploying and analysing campaigns across multiple channels to build a positive customer experience. You will create campaigns for mail, email, social and advertising, managing production and performance content across all channels. Briefing all asset requirements into the creative team, working with the CRM team to ensure the desired audience is targeted with the appropriate messaging. Proofread marketing for both online and print campaigns. Coordinating marketing agencies, tourist boards and partners to deliver planned activity.   

A key focus will be to work closely with the travel agency team and travel agent partners producing marketing material to support sales targets and awareness. 

You will gain a good understanding of all the production and data touchpoints within the business being able to raise any impact to the deliverability of campaigns.  Help drive continued improvement in ways of working and optimisation of marketing collateral and messaging to align with marketing strategies.  

 

Role Responsibility

Culture and strategy

 

  • To monitor campaign efficiency and effectiveness, aligning with marketing performance targets for each of Saga Travel Groups brand’s product lines in the light of current trading and recommend any action which may be necessary to ensure that these targets are met, with particular attention to committed products including a full programme of tactical marketing activity to support ongoing business priorities.
  • Raise awareness of both brands and the development of the brand’s promise. 
  • Cementing both brands as leaders in the touring market.
  • Develop close relationships with other marketing team colleagues, and key stakeholders across Product, Commercial and Sales teams to ensure that all marketing opportunities are maximised and the internal profile of marketing campaigns are amplified. 

Delivery

  • Communications planning:  Supporting the Marketing Managers deliver the annual marketing plan cross channels and working collaboratively with the business to ensure planned and tactical activity is in place to meet business targets.
  • Customer acquisition and database growth: Responsibility to help deliver our growth targets for new enquiries by optimising spend and activity across digital media (excluding PPC and SEO); print media (press ads, inserts); direct mail (including database and prospect activity) and 3rd party partnerships, Travel agents and lead generation houses.
  • Media agency partners:  Work with the ATL media agency, Metromail (Group mailing house) and Whistl relationship for direct mail and print.
  • Performance:  Working with Data, MI and CRM teams to providing concise campaign performance and insight to internal stakeholder on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, making recommendations to develop a continuous learning culture.
  • Data selection: Working with the CRM team on an effective targeting and data selection process for campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Process and workflow: Responsible for the briefing, sign-off and production of all creative assets, including formal briefings and presentations for key campaigns.
  • Complete and deliver mailing proposal for each direct mail activity for approval by management team.
  • Joint marketing: ad hoc to plan, develop and execute cost-effective joint marketing activity with the brands strategic partners (tourist boards, airlines, cruise lines and ground suppliers), ensuring that brand values and positioning is maintained, and securing the budget amount of supplier contributions.
  • Represent and promote the company at internal and external meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows as required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven ability to plan and deliver strategic revenue-generating marketing projects across both offline and online channels.
  • Naturally curious and enjoys working with data and insight to inform decisions and shape activity.
  • Comfortable working with business intelligence tools.
  • Omni-channel approach and willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Commercially aware, with a broad understanding of all aspects of Titan and Saga touring product range, operations, and business objectives.
  • A strong understanding of database marketing techniques.
  • Good understanding of the UK travel industry and key market dynamics.
