This role is an important part of the Group Marketing team who strive to facilitate, to help and support the Membership function of the business.

Reporting into the Assistant Marketing Manager, this role is responsible for providing support in the effective execution of Membership communication plans - resulting in highly engaged members who interact with membership (and the magazine) on a regular basis.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage and execute all marketing campaigns, projects and communications, to include, but not limited to: magazine advertising, direct mail, welcome and activation emails, engagement emails and social media channels
  • Brief and liaise with the CVM team, internal studio & digital teams and external agencies/ suppliers to ensure timely delivery of all marketing communications & creative assets
  • Lead the content plan to ensure offers are timely, engaging and delivered in line with the Possibilities marketing communications plans
  • Assist the digital team to improve and maintain the membership customer journeys including managing website content/marketing messaging
  • Utilise data and insight to drive better performance in our email communication channels
  • Ensure the correct approvals are obtained for all marketing communications and that DPA and subsequent ASA guidelines are adhered to
  • Conduct regular competitor benchmarking on other membership programmes and marketing communications with actionable outcomes
  • Proactively initiate brainstorming, research and development of new marketing communication initiatives
  • Develop a test and learn plan that is customer centric to drive better performance. Specifically focusing on targeting and personalisation
  • Work with events and commercial teams to ensure the membership offering is constantly reviewed, updated and improved. Suggesting improvements based on performance data
  • Where appropriate, incorporate successful tests into established activity to ensure the ongoing optimisation of marketing communications
  • Work with other departments to ensure effective on-boarding and early engagement of new members
  • Deputise for line manager where appropriate
  • Assist where necessary with complaint enquiries (internal and external)
  • Conduct timely and accurate MI and reports on marketing communications to ensure constant improvements and suggestions are made

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge and demonstrable competence in marketing communications
  • Good understanding of marketing and direct marketing principles and techniques
  • Strong online marketing background
  • Commercial awareness
  • Proficient in use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Use of analytical tools

Education and qualifications:

  • Graduate calibre and/or equivalent professional qualification / experience

Personal characteristics:

  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team  
  • Excellent communication skills, with an eye for detail and a creative edge
  • Customer focused
  • Multi-taker, able to operate well in a fast paced and dynamic environment
