And right now we are looking for a Master to safely drive our boutique ships whilst delivering exceptional experience to our customers onboard. If you are an experienced Master or Staff Captain and are interested in driving brand new vessels, stacked with modern technology, visiting destinations all over the globe, this may be the role for you!
Role Responsibility
The Master’s primary responsibility must always be the safe navigation and conduct of the ship.
The Master is responsible for:
- The implementation of Company policies and international requirements relative to navigation, safety, security (including cyber security) and environmental protection
- Ensuring that all procedures detailed by the Company are correctly carried out, and that all Officers perform correctly their assigned duties regarding safety and environmental protection
- Reviewing the Company’s policies, procedures and instructions regarding safety and pollution prevention
- Ensuring compliance with all legislation and regulations affecting the ship’s operation and the interests of those on board
- Ensure knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulations are up to date
- They shall justify their responsibility and respect the degree of authority given to them by keeping a close watch on every part of the organisation of the ship
- They are to ensure that the shipboard communication network, for both passengers and crew, is effective
The Ideal Candidate
Experience in a Master or Staff Captain role aboard a cruise vessel
Excellent verbal and written command of the English language
Supreme leadership and decision making skills along with ability to work under pressure
Masters certificate of competency
Previous command experience
Basic STCW is essential
- Experience with Podded propulsion would advantageous
