As a Motor Product Executive, you will be involved in all areas of product management and development. As a business, we support a diverse group of customers and help them at various stages of their lives, and in the Motor Product team you will play a pivotal part of ensuring that we provide them with the exceptional products that they deserve.
Reporting to the Motor Product Manager in the wider Product Team to manage and develop market-leading motor insurance products and customer journeys incorporating key FCA principles.
As a natural collaborator, you will be working cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business so in this broad and varied role, you will have exposure to all corners of our insurance business ensuring that we best serve our customers whilst remaining competitive in the market.
We offer flexibility over where you work – you choose a place where you feel most comfortable and productive, either from home or in one of our hubs in London, or Folkestone. We come together with a purpose to collaborate, typically once a month in London or Kent.
Role Responsibility
As one of our Motor Product Executives, you will be responsible for the implementation of product developments and product enhancements, derived from analysis of industry & competitive trends and customer research.
Other accountabilities include:
- Ownership of technical policy wording, with reference to Legal and Conduct Risk advice.
- Project management, with particular focus on cross-functional team working.
- Work within commercial relationships with suppliers - attendance at supplier meetings where required.
- Technical and management input into complaints handling, including intervention where necessary to ensure the fair and effective resolution of customer disputes.
- Management of competitor and industry research and analysis, including the maintaining of price competitiveness consistent with the Saga brand through market comparisons and actuarial liaison.
- Ensuring all customer communications are technically correct, consistent, aligned with the Saga brand and meet relevant regulatory requirements.
- Undertaking root cause analysis of products to understand key drivers behind customer complaints and deliver innovative solutions.
- Helping to deliver budgeted conversion, quotation and retention rates through product management and development.
- Deliver enhanced levels of customer satisfaction measured through customer satisfaction scores and external market benchmarks.
- Work with marketing and operational teams to optimise customer communications whilst accurately reflecting product benefits.
- Ensure product compliance in line with brand standard and regulatory requirements (e.g. annual Product and Value assessments) and managing processes to drive good customer outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
To be a successful Motor Product Executive it is essential that you have experience within general insurance including both product and regulatory requirements
Other skills and experience required include:
- Ability to problem solve and dig into the detail of information/trends.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively and manage cross-functional projects to tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of product management principles and procedures.
- Ability to challenge and improve existing processes.
- Commercially aware and able to develop and implement product initiatives to meet customer needs.
- Ability to deliver and analyse market research and trends.
- Motor insurance product knowledge.
- Ability to work within a team and independently.
