Saga Cruises have an ambitious growth plan, providing exceptional cruise experiences that inspire new and existing customers to explore with us on our new boutique ocean and river cruise ships.

And right now, we are looking for an Ocean Cruise Market Performance Executive. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a team where you will work closely with colleagues in various other parts of the Cruise business including Sales, Studio, Marketing and onboard our Saga ships.

You will work as part of a small team that play an essential role in achieving our targets for revenue and load factor through revenue management of our cruise products.  The role is responsible for effective cabin inventory management, making sure we are balancing commercial needs with exceptional levels of customer service for our internal and external customers. This role also requires a high level of accuracy as you supply and check content and pricing for our many cruises. You will need to work at a fast pace, be flexible, manage shifting priorities and conflicting demands.  You will also need to have a desire to learn more about revenue management and be curious about how pricing is managed in this busy team.

Role Responsibility

  • To ensure the accuracy of all promotional material across all channels with responsibility for inputting pricing, relevant terms and conditions and revenue messaging into our content management system.
  • To check all promotional activity for accuracy in line with Management Instructions and current legislation.
  • To liaise closely with Studio and Marketing to ensure deadlines are met according to the agreed schedule.
  • To communicate all pricing information as required to internal and external customers.
  • Working within set deadlines according to sailing dates, to berth the ships and release the passenger manifest, a legal requirement for sailing.
  • To manage the cabin inventory to allocate guarantee cabins where appropriate and to accommodate non - paying and paying passengers escalating for authorisation where necessary.
  • To manage inventory for hotels and other travel options including coach and flights and requesting additional space where required.
  • To identify, propose and implement opportunities to maximise revenue generation through cabin inventory management.
  • To deliver an exceptional level of customer experience, speaking with customers when necessary to optimise ticket revenue through cabin inventory management.
  • To communicate regularly with the onboard teams ensuring an efficient process for manifest release.
  • To support the Cruise Revenue Manager in implementing revenue management strategy, for example, actioning retro pricing decisions as required in line with the Price Promise.
  • To check Taurus packages for Saga Cruises for product launch and to ensure they are ready for sale according to an agreed schedule.
  • To create, maintain and circulate inventory reports as required from Taurus or Destiny, our Revenue Management system.
  • To maintain and develop a comprehensive competitor analysis deck for regular circulation to the Head of Cruise Market Performance.
  • To provide ad hoc support to the Ocean Market Performance team as required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • High level of numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and individual work-load.
  • To work closely with colleagues in Sales, Studio, Marketing and onboard our Saga ships
  • Excellent customer service skills – for both internal and external customers
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communicator, comfortable with liaising with colleagues across many departments
  • Pragmatic when the daily tasks mount up.
  • Resilient while under pressure
  • Curious about learning more about revenue management and Saga Cruises as a whole
  • Good team player ready to support colleagues and contribute to solution finding
  • Knowledge of Jump, our in-house content management system, Taurus and Excel is an advantage but not a necessity, training will be given
  • Excellent PC skills, in particular Excel
  • Ability to input and manage large volumes of data quickly, accurately and in line with deadlines
  • Technically and commercially astute
