You will naturally be a critical thinker. Able to spearhead dashboard creation in Tableau, improve current people data processing pipelines and support standard reporting and analytical requests to help drive our People Analytics and overall People Strategy here at Saga!
In this role you will be solely responsible for supporting the maintenance and development of the People systems including data cleansing, running scheduled reporting, troubleshooting, and working with Business Unit people teams to ensure the system meets their needs for all data reporting and capture.
You will also be responsible for maintaining Data integrity and compliance – carrying out regular reporting and auditing of People data, ensuring all People data is GDPR compliant.

You could be joining a large plc business model, where you will be the central support to a large matrix HR function with over 2500 employees!
*You will be required to visit your Saga Hub monthly, either Ashford or London.
We are ideally looking for candidates who could start immediately or early April 2024!
Role Responsibility
Our People Data Analytics and Systems Lead will play a pivotal role within our HR / People function. Your will be helping senior leaders make better people decisions through the science of advanced analytics and the art of communicating actionable insights alongside managing and maintaining our people systems and people data.
Your key areas of responsibility will be to;
People Analytics:
- Develop intuitive, manager-friendly Tableau dashboards for key people metrics, promoting self-service insight discovery and present actionable insights to business leaders.
- Design efficient ETL data pipelines with Tableau Prep and other tools (legacy or cloud) for streamlined and automated data processing.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to gather and manipulate disparate internal and external data sources (including exploring external research) to discover actionable, data driven interventions.
- Deliver standard monthly and quarterly reporting, while always looking for ways to automate existing regular report creation for internal and external teams using SQL (for making data connections) and python (for data manipulation).
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and GDPR for our colleagues.
- Facilitate regular audits of stored data to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance.
- Utilise data science, machine learning, and NLP (wherever necessary) for employee sentiment analysis to help senior management make strategic decisions.
People Systems:
- Review and develop the HR systems infrastructure, policies, controls and processes to ensure that efficiencies and opportunities are identified, implemented and data integrity is maintained.
- Provide day to day support for all system users, 60 plus HR users.
- Identify scenarios, co-ordinate, plan and implement User Acceptance Testing on People system upgrades/changes, identify problems and work with the System Providers and Technology teams for resolution.
- Work closely with Business Unit people teams to understand business needs and identify and develop system requirements & process efficiencies.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for applications from technical data analysts who have supported their in-house people function or come from a HR provider. You will need to demonstrate how you can create dashboards that have supported business decisions and strategies.
Candidates will need to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills. In this role you will be supporting our senior stakeholders across the business units.
- Have come from a HR background with a solid understanding of HR operations and experience of working with HRIS /People systems.
- Understands how to handle sensitive data and remain GDPR compliant.
- Be proactive and a team player who is keen to support the people community.
- Can manipulate large data sets (structured and unstructured), including data extraction, cleansing, manipulating, and analysis using advanced excel, SQL, python, and tableau prep flow.
- Able to design, build, and publish dashboards in Tableau with multiple data sources like Microsoft SQL server, Snowflake, Excel etc. for making live and extract data connections.
- Can work with basic python libraries relevant to data analysis and manipulation (pandas, NumPy, SciPy etc.) and knowledge of basic SQL.
