This is an exciting opportunity for experienced customer service professionals to join Saga Cruise as the new Port Representative. Within this role you will undertake a range of duties at Portsmouth port, covering all aspects of the embarkation and disembarkation process. You will always maintain a professional manner and constantly work with Saga and its customers’ best interests in mind.

You will be expected to develop excellent working relationships, providing customer care to all. 

This active role does involve long periods of standing and involves working outside, sometimes in inclement weather.

This role is based in Portsmouth. Please note this role is a zero-hour contract, averaging 30 days throughout the year.

Role Responsibility

  • Safely and efficiently meet & greet and/or escort customers outbound/inbound from the UK home ports 
  • Assist passengers to locate their luggage in the luggage hall 
  • To undertake other functions at the port including – meeting and greeting guests, check in desk duties, passport processing, escalator, directional and gangway duties, and various other duties as required 
  • Escalate issues as necessary to the Port operations Supervisor at the Port on the day 
  • Attend briefings, training courses and meetings when required 
  • To maximise all opportunities to interact with guests and provide excellent customer service 
  • Ensure that all aspects of the operation are constantly meeting Saga’s expectations in all aspects of quality and guest experience 
  • Ensure all reports and expenses are correctly completed and all paperwork is returned within the specified time scale 
  • To always adhere to company procedures 
  • Be able to undertake all duties and roles as required

  • A good knowledge of Port Operations / Travel Operations
