This is a brand-new role for Exceptional, Saga’s media arm. In fact, we need 2! Here at Saga, we are at the start of producing regular videos for our growing audience! If you are either a veteran presenter or inexperienced but have the desire and confidence to be in front of the camera, then this rare opportunity could be just for you!

Ultimately, you will be speaking to our audience and be the face of our brand, so we are more interested in your presence in front of a camera than what you’ve done in the past.

The successful candidate will be responsible for scripting videos in accordance with our overall content plan, working with the video creation team to film content for a variety of platforms and work across social media to engage with our audience.

To join us a Presenter at Saga Exceptional, we’re much less interested in previous media experience, and much more interested in finding the right person. That means we want to find someone who’s great at interviewing people and getting the most out of them, who is up for a challenge across multiple disciplines that our audience is interested in, and who’s keen to get involved in trying plenty of new things out. There’s no room for superstar egos, but plenty of room for people to be superstars.

** Hybrid working ** We will require you to attend the Chippenham - Wiltshire office / studio 2 or 3 days a week. You will need to be within a reasonable commuting distance to undertake this role.

Role Responsibility

Working as one of our Presenters you will work closely with our Producer / Creator and the wider Saga Media team. This is a varied but interesting job. You’ll be responsible for researching, scripting, voicing and presenting content for broadcast on various platforms. You'll work with the rest of the team to plan content for the long and short term, striving to ensure that we’re creating the videos that our audience want to see.

You will also work across our various social media and video platforms, interacting with the audience and responding as a voice of the brand, but you won’t be alone – we’ve a team of people who will work with and support you to do the best work you’ve ever done. We’re working to build something brilliant.

As the Presenter, you will be;

  • Scripting, planning, presenting and voicing over videos based on the schedule
  • Planning and researching content ideas in collaboration with the rest of the video and editorial team
  • Interacting with and responding to comments and questions from our audience on social media
  • Posting content across various video and social platforms to give the audience a behind the scenes view on what we’re creating
  • Creating short form social video to promote our longer form content
  • Studying trends and data from platforms to help optimise our content output

The Ideal Candidate

If you are already reading this part of the job advert, you will not be camera shy!

But to be an Exceptional Presenter, we need you to demonstrate the following skills and experiences;

  • Previous experience in front of camera isn’t necessary, but would help
  • Experience in creating video content across multiple platforms
  • An understanding of the media landscape as it pertains to video
  • Some experience in DIY, gardening, and of technology – these things are not exclusive or exhaustive
  • It would help if you’ve any qualifications as a fitness instructor or if you’re a keen athlete
  • An understanding of the tools available for reporting and analysis of video content 
  • Ability to prioritise competing priorities and complete them accurately and on time
  • Written skills – you'll need great spelling and grammar to ensure that our content meets expectations
  • Attention to detail – our content needs to be factually accurate
  • Communication skills – you'll be working with all sorts of people, so being clear and concise will help
  • Great with people – you'll be interviewing people on screen who may not be used to appearing on camera
  • Able to engage – you'll be someone who our audience will find fun and engaging
  • Keen to ‘have a go’ - you won’t know everything that we’ll be creating content about, but you’ll be up for trying!
