…And right now, we are looking for a Pricing Operations Executive to join us.  With a brand new, purpose-built cruise ship launched in July 2019 and another due for delivery in August 2020,  and market leading, innovative insurance and financial products the transformation of our business makes the Saga Group a very exciting place to be as we move toward the Saga 70th anniversary in 2021

You will carry out in-depth testing of system changes to a high standard to ensure the accuracy of the prices returned. You will bring high numerical and analytical skills.

Role Responsibility

  • In depth testing of IT system changes and fault fix releases to ensure prices quoted are correct
  • Ownership of fault diagnosis and resolution:
    • Raise system faults through the appropriate channels as required and follow through until resolution
    • Represent the needs of the pricing department at the monthly Fault Forum to recommend faults for prioritisation
  • Assist the Pricing Lead in carrying out periodic checks on the risk controls carried out in the department
  • Support the Pricing Lead with the reporting and tracking of any risk incidents
  • Assist the Pricing Lead in the development and maintenance of data flow processes
  • Carry out daily checks on data import processes to ensure the pricing teams have the latest data readily available to them. Implement any immediate fixes and/or escalate issues as required
  • Managing and tracking the progress of assigned projects from pre-development meetings through to post release testing
  • Support senior members of the team in any ad-hoc projects as required
  • Monitor the performance of and space on our servers and highlight any potential issues before functionality is affected
  • Ensure process documentation is up to date and accurate

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in trouble-shooting incidents; playing a leading or supporting role as appropriate
  • Experience of manipulating large data sets and sense checking resultant outputs
  • An understanding of database structures would be an advantage
  • Confidence in raising issues with senior members of the department
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and concisely
  • Familiarity with general insurance pricing processes and understanding of Personal Lines Insurance products would be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Visual Basic an advantage
  • Excel expert

Education and Qualifications:

  • A’ level/equivalent or higher in a mathematical or IT subject would be preferred
  • Good GCSE’s in English and Maths essential
  • Proficient in data manipulation languages such as SQL or similar
