£65,000 - £70,000

12 month FTC

Folkestone/London Hybrid

Reporting to the Head of People, you will support the delivery of key strategic priorities within a People (HR) Team.

This role would suit an experienced Project Manager in the financial services space who is self-starting, proactive, and people-oriented and looking for a new, challenging opportunity. 

You will ideally have experience leading people or tech workstreams and preferably through change programmes.

Day to day, you will apply the best project management methodologies and principles to enable the timely and budget-friendly delivery of work.

We work in a hybrid way at Saga, both at home and in the office. The people team are typically in person twice a week, allowing us to collaborate and share success as a business.

Role Responsibility

•    Creating and maintaining good working relationships with project sponsors and various business stakeholders across the business

•    Communicating across all levels to enable clear understanding of the strategy behind project needs, design and delivery approach

•    Preparation and presentation of supporting project documentation to senior management across the business

•    Having the ability to support a team of business professionals deployed across a range of projects to achieve excellent standards of productivity and quality

•    Being an effective negotiator, balancing alternatives and seeking win-win solutions

•    Effectively managing project team members and resources, including third parties and suppliers, always maintaining an excellent level of service and ensuring project delivery to time, budget and quality

•    Effective communication of projects’ status and issues to business management, IT and the project teams.

•    Project governance including creation and maintenance of the project plan, highlight & progress reporting, risk and issue management

•    Working to a waterfall methodology but having an open mind to bring new ideas and ways of working and being resilient to change


The Ideal Candidate

The successful Project Manager will have experience managing projects within a people workstream. Whilst experience within Insurance and Financial Services isn't essential, it would be of advantage.

Other skills required would include:

  • Exposure to various methodologies, specifically Waterfall but flexible to bring new ideas and ways of working
  • Proven experience of managing cross-divisional stakeholder and change management
  • Resilient mindset with an openness to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Proven stakeholder management
  • Positive attitude to work with a proactive approach to organisation and delivery
