A great opportunity has arisen for a QA Support Managerto join the Saga Servicesbusiness.

You will be responsible for performance management of and supporting / coaching the QA Automation Testers in the application of test best practice, use of the automation test tools and ensuring target test velocity is met on an ongoing basis.

Role Responsibility

  • Provide line management/technical support and coaching to the QA automation testers for the application of best practice and guidance on issue resolution
  • Identifying training & development needs for QA automation testers/QA senior automation testers.
  • Constant communication with SID teams to develop a strong understanding of the changes, testing objectives, and progress
  • Contribute to scrum rituals such as sprint planning sessions to support QA resource as needed
  • Keep up-to-date with Automation processes.
  • Represent QA as required in programme meetings and governance framework
  • To use test tools as part of test processes and to be proactive in investigating ways to improve efficiency
  • Contribute and own QA meetings to share and improve knowledge across the department
  • Manage performance concerns and liaise with senior QA and programme management if required

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Management experience in an insurance-based or change management environment would be an advantage
  • Line management experience
  • Experienced in coaching and management of people and disparate teams
  • Experienced in estimating test effort needed for tasks
  • Experience/knowledge of testing practices and principles

  • Ability to coach and support others
  • Ability to develop technical skill in test automation
  • Ability to work in a methodical manner
  • Able to ensure consistent motivation throughout the team
  • Ability to work professionally with colleagues and management at all levels
  • Keen attention to detail, able to multi task and manage diverse workload, driven by quality
  • Demonstrates that the customer is central to test scenarios and suggest improvements around this
  • Interest in agile testing
  • Passionate about delivering change
  • Approachable, good communication skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships
  • Excellent motivational, verbal and written communication skills and can adapt style to communicate to different individuals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Supportive, flexible, independent and self-motivated
  • Able to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Develop and maintain good professional working relationships
  • Ability to work to demanding schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes and confidently coach others in its use
