And right now, we are looking for Quality Assurance Testers on a Fixed Term Contract for up to 6 & 12 months at an exciting time in Saga’s history. As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships, leading the market with innovative insurance and financial products. The role is based in the Claims team working to develop the 1Insurer application. You will be responsible for estimating, designing, and executing test plans to ensure the team has effectively delivered the requirements for our customers and end users, both internal and external. While most of the testing is performed manually there is an increasing amount of automation in the testing process using the chosen automation software.

Role Responsibility

As a QA Tester your top 5 responsibilities will be:    

  • Constant communication with Scrum Coordinator, test, and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the changes, testing objectives, and progress. 

  • Contribute to sprint planning sessions and challenge acceptance criteria specifications where appropriate. 

  • Generate and maintain scripts to perform automated testing cycles that fulfil business requirements. 

  • Identify known defects and include scenarios in test scripts to reduce risk of these. 

  • Document, track and escalate defects in development packages as appropriate.

  • Confident in estimating effort needed for tasks
  • Excellent product and business knowledge
  • Ability to work to demanding schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes
  • A technical background or experience of scripting skills/test automation tools would be an advantage but not essential (Katalon)
  • Knowledge of version control would be an advantage but not essential (SourceTree/Git)
  • Proactive in early development of test scripts, working alongside ongoing development
  • Ability to investigate defects to provide further detail to developers
  • Experience in a claims-based environment would be an advantage.
  • Technical knowledge in scripting/coding will be an advantage
  • Ability to work in a methodical manner
