This role is an important part of the Trade Sales team who strive to facilitate, to help and support the Travel and Cruising function of the business.
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing trade sales within a defined geographical region, effectively growing and developing relationships with the Travel Agent businesses within that area. The position is a field based sales role for ST&H Ltd and will be a key part in the growth of Saga within the UK travel trade.

Role Responsibility
- Maintain close working relationships with all the key travel agents within our trade distribution.
- Take full ownership of your region, growing sales and constantly seeking new opportunities.
- Responsible for the management and growth of key accounts and partners
- Work closely with the other Regional Sales Manager’s to share best practice and support each other.
- Deputise for the Senior Regional Sales Manager when required.
- Work up detailed weekly and monthly call plans to visit agents.
- Seek and develop new trade distribution partners.
- Work with partners on tactical campaigns for the brands, responding to trading priorities.
- Maximise the return on investment from the annual marketing fund for use in joint promotions, training and incentives for agents.
- Deliver training to travel agents on a regular basis.
- Attend industry events as required, to promote the ST&H Ltd product to the Travel Trade.
- Work with the Trade Sales Executive to ensure Travel Agent administration (i.e. system set up for new agents) is handled efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure the Saga Holidays travel agents web-site is used fully for agents and company benefit.
- Prepare and run fam tips for the brands, as agreed by the Head of Trade Sales.
- Maintain a close working relationship with colleagues at ST&H Ltd office locations, ensuring they are up to date on trade developments and promotions.
- Provide regular trade feedback to the business to assist with the development of strategy and trade offers.
- Maintain an up to date database on all trade competitor activity.
- Run events, evenings and promotions on an out of hours basis as required.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of the wider business goals, always striving for the best outcome for ST&H Ltd.
- Be cost conscious at all times, planning travel early and reducing cost where possible.
The Ideal Candidate
Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
- Be seen within the company as the travel agent expert.
- Delivery of accurate travel agent promotions to include window displays, joint advertising and in-store promotions to agreed budgets.
- Proven ability to manage resources.
- Good project management skills.
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial flair and desire to grow your regional sales
- Prior knowledge of the trade and Saga products is desirable.
Education and Qualifications:
- Good standard of secondary education.
- Full, clean driving license.
Personal Characteristics:
- Solid commercial acumen.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Excellent communicator.
- Ability to self-motivate.
