Revenue Manager

Job Introduction

As a Revenue Manager, you will be key to Saga Travel Group achieving their growth strategy over the next 5 years. This role is responsible for setting Tour prices, monitoring their ongoing performance and reacting quickly and effectively in order to maximise its commercial potential.

Role Responsibility

  • Implementing the pricing strategy agreed by the business for your geographical area, setting and managing those prices across the year.
  • Performance Analysis – Continuously review the Trading performance of the Tours and Regions under your control.
  • Pricing Opportunities – Identify adjustments to pricing that need to be made, including promotional activity.
  • Capacity Management – Identify what regions we are either limited in capacity or have excess and determine the corrective action required.
  • Forecasting – For your tours monitor the key metrics for each departure year on a rolling basis and complete a quarterly forecast at a Tour/Departure month level.
  • Business Partnering – With key departments such as Product and Marketing, to ensure all are aligned on the business needs, for both the short and long term.
  • Competitor Analysis – Along with the Commercial MI Analyst, reviewing the competitor behaviours and pricing to determine the trends in the market.
  • Process Improvement – Highlight and push through changes to current processes where applicable.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Highly numerate, with good Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions with confidence or identify when an issue should be escalated
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise accordingly
  • Strong data analysis skills, to monitor trends and patterns in booking behaviour.
  • Assertive/can do attitude to ensure the correct action is swiftly taken when an issue arises
  • Travel Sector - Experience working in the Travel industry, ideally within Touring.
  • Revenue Management - Excellent understanding of pricing and yield processes, commercial issues, and the impact on the wider business.
  • Systems – Tigerbay reservation system
