As a Group, Saga has taken to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships, leads the market with innovative insurance and financial products, and creates thousands of unforgettable memories for our loyal holidaymakers who are at the heart of the Saga brand.  

You will bring your extensive Reward specialist experience built up in a multi-location organisation with exposure to operations teams. You will have experience within Financial Services, Executive Reward, and Defined Benefit & Defined Contribution schemes.

Role Responsibility

  • Creating a reward strategy for the next 3/5 years which builds on the outcomes of the Simpler Saga change project that meets the current and future organisational needs in relation to the pay and reward agenda across all levels, including the Executive Directors.  

  • Manage, advise and communicate on pension issues - utilising pension resources available 

  • The on-site Nursery and associated budget and standards. 

  • Administration and reporting on our various share schemes. 

  • A comprehensive and inclusive process by which salaries can be reviewed fairly and consistently in line with our internal reward principles 

  • Develop and communicate the Reward & Recognition strategy to all the organisation, developing and publishing a Reward calendar so that timescales, roles and responsibilities are clear to all stakeholders. 

  • Translate (working with Finance and People teams where required) Reward and Recognition strategy into new policies, processes and procedures including relocation, travel & subsistence, pensions, pay and allowances.  

  • Collaborating with the talent acquisition and OD team on job profiling and job evaluation methodology. 

  • The reward structures and pay rates are benchmarked nationally and locally, including participation in national & local remuneration forums. 

  • Manage and communicate the benefit schemes - working to ensure synergy and cost-effective arrangements with suppliers.  

  • The annual reward cycle including pay review and annual bonus. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Extensive Reward specialist experience in a multi-location organisation with exposure to operations teams. 

  • Experience within Financial Services  

  • Well networked in the Reward community 

  • Experience of a Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Scheme 

  • Executive Reward 

  • Track record of successfully implementing a reward agenda that has made a difference to an organisation
