A great opportunity has arisen for a Risk Analyst to join our Saga Group business. This is an important role within Saga Group to help and support the Risk function of the business.

You will support the Group Risk team in providing independent oversight of, and support, on all risk management activities to the Saga businesses. You will work with risk owners and risk co-ordinators across the business in embedding and enhancing the operational risk framework, covering risk policies, risk registers, risk incidents, snap checks and risk reporting. 

You will bring effective organisational skills and be able to juggle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines, demonstrating excellent attention to detail.

Role Responsibility

  • Support the design, implementation and embedding of an effective operational risk framework and risk policies across the Saga businesses
  • Work with the business risk owners and risk co-ordinators to identify, quantify, monitor, and mitigate their risks and provide independent review & challenge of their risk registers for adequacy and technical correctness
  • Oversee and support the business on the timely identification, logging and remediation of risk incidents and generate root cause and trend analysis reports
  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely completion of business snap checks
  • Contribute to the ongoing identification and assessment of the horizon risk landscape for the Saga businesses
  • Perform research and analysis on key risk themes, the market environment of the Saga businesses and on specific business risks
  • Maintain relationships with key staff and teams and provide risk advice, education and training services on risk management activities and business projects
  • Support the Technical Risk Manager in the timely production and submission of risk reports for the relevant governance meetings
  • Deputise for the Technical Risk Manager at meetings and represent the Saga Group Risk function at relevant external conferences or events

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Good understanding of one of more of the Saga businesses, procedures, processes, policies, and systems
  • Excellent communication skills, written and listening and ability to act as a Group Risk point of contact
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Good IT skills across Microsoft office programmes
  • Enterprise Risk Management experience desirable but not essential
