It’s a varied role where you’ll work closely with colleagues and senior stakeholders across Saga. You’ll build strong relationships, challenge constructively, agree pragmatic actions and help ensure that recommendations lead to meaningful improvements across the business.
If you’re an experienced Auditor looking for a role where you can have genuine influence, work across a diverse business and be part of an exciting period of growth at Saga, we’d love to hear from you.
We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. In this team we work mainly from Folkestone and tend to have a pattern of Tuesdays & Wednesdays when we come together as a team in the office.

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you’ll be responsible for delivering audit and assurance work across the business and supporting the delivery of our annual audit plan. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing a strong understanding of the business area under review, including its objectives, risks and controls.
• Applying Group strategy and priorities when assessing the area under review.
• Identifying key risks and controls and designing appropriate testing strategies.
• Executing robust testing to provide a sound opinion on the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
• Using data and technology to enhance audit testing and provide maximum insight.
• Identifying significant issues and ensuring these are reported with authority and credibility.
• Working with management to agree pragmatic and appropriate actions where issues are identified.
• Drafting audit issues, full audit reports and other supporting documentation to a high standard.
• Completing follow-up work to validate the effectiveness of actions taken by management to address audit issues.
• Building and managing effective relationships with business management and stakeholders across Saga.
• Working in line with Institute of Internal Auditors Standards and Saga’s in-house audit methodology.
• Contributing ideas and solutions to support the continued development of the Internal Audit function and the wider Enterprise.
• Undertaking limited national and international travel where required.

You’ll ideally have:
• 5+ years’ experience in Internal Audit, including at least 3 years as a Senior Auditor or Audit Manager.
• A strong understanding of risk, controls and materiality, with the ability to apply these concepts in a practical business environment.
• The ability to understand and apply strategic priorities when assessing risk and controls.
