Senior Marketing Manager - Acquisition

Our Marketing team is going through an exciting period of change and this newly created leadership role will play a key part in driving our tour operations business forward. This is a great opportunity to join the company in a key moment in Saga’s history.

In this role, you'll have responsibility for driving awareness, engagement and new customer acquisition volumes for Saga Holidays.

You will bring strong marketing experience, understanding different channels and types of marketing. You'll have experience with both digital and performance marketing and have lead campaigns from creation to delivery. You'll also have a knowledge of trading and know how to support a brand.

Please note, this role can be based out of our Folkestone and London office. 

Role Responsibility

  • Developing brand awareness strategy for Holidays – in conjunction with Cruise Marketing and Saga Group
  • Developing campaign propositions and annual communication calendar for Holidays to enable effective customer acquisition campaigns
  • Leading on campaign development and merchandising plans for Holidays, briefing and liaising with Retention and Digital teams to implement
  • Management of all acquisition marketing spend – offline (TV, press etc) and digital (display, PPC)
  • Indirectly manage Trade Marketing activity for Holidays
  • Oversee ‘Always On’ marketing support for trading – utilising digital and print media to drive bookings for distressed inventory
  • Identify and develop partnership and sponsorship opportunities to grow reach and awareness
  • Day-to-day management of key agencies – including brand communication and media buying
  • Effective liaison and co-ordination with Cruise Marketing team, collaborating on campaigns when practical and consistently putting the customer first
  • Key metric ownership - brand awareness (for Holidays), Enquirer and First Time Booker volumes, CPAs, web traffic, trade sales volumes

The Ideal Candidate

Capability, knowledge and experience:

  • An experienced Marketeer with a successful background in customer acquisition activity across travel/leisure sector
  • Experience of managing media agencies, with the confidence to challenge and push for innovative solutions to our briefs
  • Significant experience in acquisition through digital channels
  • Ability to use experience and influencing skills to drive business success via multiple senior stakeholders – including Holidays trading teams, Cruise Marketing Team, Saga Group depts (e.g. Membership, data, brand)
  • Outstanding leadership skills and ability to aid with the day to day management of the marketing team
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Sound commercial awareness
  • Budget Management experience
  • Highly numerate with good working knowledge of MS Office

Education and qualifications:

  • Graduate calibre
  • Marketing qualification
