Smartcomms Developer      

Salary £32,000 - £38,000 Depending on experience

Permanent

FT – 35 hours per week

Hybrid – Home & Hub (London or Kent)

As a Smart Communications Developer you’ll join the technology team within our Insurance business. You will contribute to our processes to deliver world class technology operations for our systems and services. You will do this through excellent operational focus on system stability, security, performance, and reliability. 

You will also manage all service change for document production and liaise with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient process.  

Reporting to the Head of Solution Delivery, you will work in a scrum team to ensure the delivery and maintenance of documents from the Thunderhead/Smartcomms platform.

At Saga, we offer flexibility over where you work. You choose a place that you feel most comfortable and productive, either from home or in one of our hubs in London, Ashford or Sandwich. In our scrum teams we typically come together to collaborate every few months.

Role Responsibility

As one of our Developers you will be building and modifying Thunderhead/Smartcomms documents/configuration in line with Business needs and requirements.

 

Your accountabilities will include; 

  • Ensuring any deliveries are of high quality and any development side testing is complete 
  • Working collaboratively with other Technology professionals and SME’s to deliver technology programmes, projects and workstreams 
  • Assisting with troubleshooting systems and working collaboratively to resolve and prevent any defects, risk, or issues 
  • Creating and maintaining technical documents 
  • Remaining up to date with development best practice 
  • Adherence to all marketing brand styles and guidelines 
  • Resolution of any issues within the Thunderhead/Smartcomms platform 
  • Full development lifecycle knowledge 

The Ideal Candidate

As one of our Developers, you will need experience using Thunderhead/Smartcomms

Other skills and experience required include:

  • Communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of coding languages and frameworks relevant to area. 
  • Agile development methodologies. 
  • Ability to learn new coding languages and technologies. 
  • An eye for detail and identifying problems. 
  • Good education background ideally to a degree level. 
  • Application developer or similar experience.
