…And right now, we are looking for a Social Media Specialist to join us. Internal communication at Saga has never been more important and to take it to the next level, we are looking for a savvy Social Media Specialist to create impactful communications on our internal comms platform (Workplace) and our social external media channels. 

You will need to be constantly curious, keen to always learn more, an initiative taker and have the skills to create content to engage and interest our colleagues. You will be able to write for a diverse audience in social media and generate posts from you, and on behalf of our senior leadership team. Lastly, you will be a self-starter, able to work with pace and precision, set high standards for yourself and consistently agitate to bring new ideas and innovations to the platform.

Role Responsibility

  • Writing and creating engaging, compelling, and impactful content, which is right for the medium and aligned to our brand values 
  • Developing and executing creative ways to translate information into compelling storylines using video, images, and graphics 
  • Great at networking and collaborating, to seek out the most engaging and powerful content teams to source and surface relevant content to share with colleagues 
  • Owning the content on our Workplace channel 
  • Monitoring results, evaluating success, and adapting strategies to grow and improve colleague engagement 
  • Supporting the internal comms team in the planning and delivery of major corporate announcements, campaigns, launches, events, and change programmes, to maximise colleague reach and effectiveness 
  • Informing, educating, and coaching other teams at Saga on Workplace, offering training and best practice, and acting as advisor 
  • Responding to Workplace comments from colleagues, quickly and in a suitable way that is aligned to our brand values, and in a prompt fashion  
  • Creating and delivering Workplace live events 
  • Accountable for the relationship with Workplace, checking best practice amongst other Workplace using organisations and other comms teams 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of creating content and controlling a corporate social media channel ideally Facebook, Workplace, or a similar platform 
  • An ability to create and generate your own content from design assets, with the necessary technical and software skills 
  • Great writing and content generation skills 
  • Demonstrable experience in a suitable business environment 
  • Experience of reporting channel performance, metrics, and analytics
