Job Introduction
Saga is Britain’s most experienced specialist Tour Operator for holidaymakers who are aged 50 years and over.
SAGA is primarily a direct sell, off-peak tour operator, with a varied programme of holidays. These range from Long-Haul, European and UK (Short Haul) tours and resort stays, Ocean & River Cruising, Short Break holidays and Special Interest programmes, such as Walking, Singles, Archaeology, Art Appreciation, Gardens and Music.
Our employees will be able to provide an excellent level of service and able to gain customer confidence through knowledge and a genuine concern for their wellbeing and enjoyment of their holiday.
…And right now, we are looking for a Social Escort at an exciting time in Saga’s history. As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in our brand new, luxury cruise ships and leading the market with innovative insurance and financial products.
You will be responsible for the welfare of our guests; you will travel from the Holiday Inn Folkestone to the Cruise alongside the guests where you will tender to their needs throughout. On arrival on the Cruise, you will assist with all duties as required by Cruise Host.
Cabin, Meals, and access to the usual onboard facilities will be available to you through your journey on the river cruise. You will be on call throughout my time on the cruise and should you need to be contacted to assist in a medical emergency outside of hours you will be available to disembark and undertake welfare responsibilities.

Role Responsibility
General and Social:

Attending on board activities such as Dinners, Guest briefing and entertainment slots.

Undertaking any additional duties as requested by Cruise Host.

Escorting included and optional excursions.

Ensuring the company’s image and values are always being adhered to.

To raise any customer complaints with the onboard Cruise Host or Duty officer were applicable.
Escorting and welfare:
-
Escorting guests from Folkestone Holiday Inn to the spirit of the Rhine vessel and back.

Escort guests who are referred to hospital and clinics ashore.

Embarkation and disembarkation duties.
The Ideal Candidate
-
Customer facing experience.
-
Presenting skills
-
Reasonable level of Mathematics and IT skills and excellent level of verbal communicative skills.

Ability to Facilitate friendships.

Strong organisational and decision–making skills.

Ability to be flexible to guest and company needs.

Able to make decisions in an efficient manner.

Previous experience working overseas, preferably on River or Ocean cruises.

Customer service experience is essential.

Public speaking experience.

Experience working under pressure.

Providing a duty of care.

Reasonable level of Mathematics and IT skills and excellent level of verbal communicative skills.
